Dr. Jeffrey Michael Nicastro, MD

Dr Nicastro is so kind & caring. He has the most gracious bedside manner and the empathy he shows for his patients is overwhelming. He gave us hope and understood our mom's needs as well as ours. He takes the time to explain details and gives full commitment to his profession. We got through the hardest times only because Dr Nicastro was there every step of the way. I have no doubt that Dr. Nicastro saved my life! I had an intestinal blockage. I was rushed to the hospital and he was waiting for me at the ER. He personally Rushed me up to the OR. I was in intensive care for 2 days under his constant personal monitoring! The entire staff took extra care because they knew I was "Dr. Nicstro's Patient!" He is intense, demanding and a perfectionist with himself and those around him. Qualities that are often mistaken for arrogance. Make no mistake striving for excellence is something not so many are comfortable with today!! When your care matters he is the one that you want in charge of your welfare!

Don't know what the problem with this Doc is, but he has a huge chip on his shoulder. His ego interferes with his judgement and he is quick to temper. I saw him ream into residents and override specialists recommendations. He is like Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, one minute sweet, the next scary. I distrust his motives and judgement. Would not recommend to anyone. He is unprofessional and petty. That's my opinion. He is current Head Surgeon at LIJ.
