Dr. Jeffrey William Penner, PhD

Dr. Penner is a psychoanalyst with an unusual ability to look beneath the surface of what is said and understand the unconscious thoughts and feelings that cause problems and pain. He is a compassionate person with a lot of insight, gleaned from many years of practice. I highly recommend him.

I went to 5 couples sessions with my girlfriend (now ex) of 3 years and Dr. Penner to try save my relationship. I felt my voice was never heard and we never dug into anything deeper than the previous week. On multiple occasions I tried to express that I felt manipulated by my girlfriend and that her drinking was a major problem. His response was asking her to stop drinking for a couple hours while we watch a movie and said to me "it's hurtful to call someone manipulative". I didn't have much faith that counseling would work with her and Dr. Penner just proved me right unfortunately. Save yourself the time and money. Find someone who will listen to both people and dig deeper into the issues.
