Dr. Jennifer Lynn Bickel, MD

Very abrupt and insensitive to my child who has cancer. We have seen several doctors and have never been treated so poorly. Very, very disappointed.

Dr. Bickel runs the Comprehensive Pain Management clinic for kids with severe migraines however, instead of trying to figure out why a child has them, she just throws medication at them. Seeing a doctor twice a year for 10 minutes (although you spend two or three hours at each visit in the clinic) does not make them an expert on your child. Nor does every kid respond to the same cookie cutter treatment plan. She is quick to label patients with having pain issues and then not treating at all. Her office is not responsive, hard to get into and if there is a parent concern, she doesn't care.

This doctor isn't very personable and doesn't listen.

We've wasted 8mos at the concussion clinic at Children's Mercy. Dr. Bickel and her team have not provided any help in relieving my child's symptoms or offering us any kind of prognosis. My child had a severe reaction to one of the medications she prescribed us and they never even returned my phone call. My child has actually gotten worse under Dr. Bickel's care, and the symptoms have morphed into Fibromyalgia. Our whole experience at Children's Mercy has been one of incompetence, from appointment scheduling to communication between "team" members. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Fantastic doctor! She has worked wonders for my family.
