Dr. Jeremy Payne, MD, PhD

I’m unsure if the problem is his affiliation with Banner hospitals, or if he simply is unwilling to hire quality office staff. Dr. Payne is a quality doctor, quite knowledgeable, and never shrinks from letting you know that he is the consummate expert. It can be reassuring, although comes off a bit haughty. However his office staff is abysmal to the point that any pros of the physician are far outweighed by the office’s cons. I see several specialists in his office. I’ve experienced 3 different scheduling mix-ups. I’ve had to wait weeks and weeks for them to properly submit information to insurance that generally takes any other doctor 1-2 days at most to complete. I have to nag and follow up on them constantly to ensure orders are properly handled. His assistant is unpleasant and offers her own opinions and advice outside of consulting with Dr. Payne. I’ve been scolded by the doctor for following her advice twice now, he seems completely unaware actions were based on information… provided by her. I’ve also reached a point now where I can no longer get any return call from the office, I’m instead routes through some convoluted messaging system run by Banner health. Communication is horrible.
