Dr. Jessica Teresa Baker, DO

I would not recommend to get an appointment with the new Dr. Jessica Baker’s substitute, who is not quite a doctor and lacks medical qualifications for practicing as a family doctor. Who runs blood work on glucose level after a person ate a few chocolate candies and chips? It’s simply ridiculous. And then this “doctor” announces to you that you are “pre diabetic”, meanwhile she doesn’t even know that the blood sugar test should only be done if a patient did not eat anything before the blood work was done. This is just one of many things that might happen to you if you become their patient.

This doctor was recommended to me so I decided to give it a try. It’s an absolute nightmare to find a qualified pediatrician in the Greater Philadelphia area and I needed to find someone more or less qualified for my children. At our initial new patient visit doctor seemed very polite and showed interest to our health concerns but when my daughter got sick and I had to return to the doctor Baker’s office, her attitude changed to the opposite-now she was in a hurry and seemed too relaxed while checking a child who had high fever just a few hours ago. I even had a feeling she wasn’t listening to what I had to say. Dr. Baker barely checked her throat, just glanced into it without any proper medical appliances. I felt uncomfortable and neglected because at home, when the fever reached 104, I started checking my sick child’s throat myself and discovered that she had lots of pus on her tonsils. I wonder how doctor didn’t notice it. Only then I realized why the fever wouldn’t go away for… 3 days and not even antibiotics was helping. I feel disappointed in doctor’s bedside manner. I believe one should show enough engagement and eagerness to help when he/she wants to pursue a career in medical field. Talking about the office in general, I have to mention that the stuff comes to work whenever they feel like. On Monday their schedule on website says: from 8AM till 3 PM, well I got through to them well after 9AM to make an appointment. To sum up, Dr. Baker gives a good first expression but then ruins it with sick child’s visits.

What a gem Dr. Baker is. I am so glad I found her. I have switched Doctors on several occasions for several different reasons. I have been mis-diagonosed and put on meds by previous doctors. On my last visit, Dr. Baker said to me, that she is not sure but thinks I had **** but wanted an x-ray to confirm. It is nice to know a doctor that is not afraid to say she is not sure, instead of talking like they no it all. Very impressed and Highly recommend her!

Very happy with the whole experience...

Dr. Baker's manner is very similar to Dr. Rafferty. I never feel rushed, she takes as much time with me as necessary. I think the ease of making an appointment will get better once the transition from Dr. Rafferty is completed. I see her every 3 months, but they still can't commit to the next appointment when I am there. They did make an appointment for me the day I needed stiches removed.

Really loved the care she provided for my son. Took time to listen and discuss any concerns. Great Dr./patient interaction, never felt that she was talking down to me.

A couple friends at work recommended Dr. Baker. After years of long waits to see my doctor for 5 minutes I was blown away. There was almost no wait and she really spent a lot of time addressing all of my needs. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a caring and friendly Doctor.
