Dr. Jessica Lyn Bender, DO

Poor decision making. Awful doctor. AVOID HER IF YOURE PREGNANT!

I recently went to an appointment to see Dr. Bender at her office in Evergreen Park for my annual exam. Not only did I wait 1 hour and 10 minutes, but when the nurse finally called my name, she told me Dr. Bender had "left." No mention of an emergency, just that she had come in late and now she had left. I understand OB/Gynes are frequently on-call for deliveries, however I have never in my life been scheduled for an appointment with an on-call physician without being notified at the time of making my appointment that the physician was on-call that day and my appointment may be disrupted. I first went to see Dr. Bender last year because my long-time doctor had left her practice and her location was convenient and I trust the hospital she is affiliated with (Little Company of Mary Hospital). My first impression was positive, however I was wrong. There are other doctors in her office, so I have no idea why she would inconvenience her patients like this while on-call I also have no idea… why I wasn't even offered to see another doctor in the practice. It is so offensive to me that my time is taken advantage of like this, and I wasn't the only one there treated like this. Another woman had been there a few hours before for an appointment and was told to come back, only to be also sent home without seeing the doctor because she had "left." That would be why most doctors have designated days they see patients and those they are delivering babies and/or performing surgery. How rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional.
