Dr. Jia Wang, MD

Nice enough, but not very personable and in the end was not a very helpful experience.

I have been very satisfied. She is one of the smartest doctors I have ever seen. Her office policy is clear and fair. I never do any labs or take anything without a thorough explanation. She helped me get off drugs and get my mood on track. Life is good now.

The doctor is nice enough but their controlled substance policy is draconian. They expect you to pass multiple months' worth of drug tests before prescribing controlled substances, even if you've been using that substance for a long time and it's been life-changing for you. They argue this is because the DEA monitors controlled substances but many other doctors don't have this policy. They would rather protect themselves and mess with your medication and your head than respect your privacy and help you get the medication you need.

Dr. Wang has always provided quality treatment!

I am so fortunate to have Jia Wang as my psychiatrist. If you were her patient, you'd feel the same. She's loving, zen, and funny. Truly, we laugh together! The humor and joy in my life is so much more obvious walking out of our sessions than walking in. Incidentally (and for what it's worth) she makes me feel like the most interesting person in the world. And she shares her knowledge and ideas in a way that makes me feel like a valued confidant (not a dumb patient). But in no way does her manner seem disingenuous; her visceral reactions ooze with honesty. If you want to know what I mean, go see her; my words won't do her justice!

Dr. Jia Wang's office is Tranquility. There's something about her comfy white couch, the floor to ceiling windows and all those neatly hung diplomas that make my sessions with Dr. Wang feel so luxurious. Or maybe its her personality? Maybe it's everything! Dr. Wang has created a space for me where I feel completely SAFE. Inside that office, I know I can be honest with her and with myself. With the chaos that comes from being a professional, a wife and mother; my visits with Dr. Jia Wang are vital "ME TIME." A gem of a resource. Dr. Jia Wang, remember that name!

Dr. Wang's office feels CONCIERGE & EXCLUSIVE but accepted my INSURANCE!!! Wow! HUGE BONUS! I have BCBS PPO & unlike most psychiatrists in Houston -- her office accepts INSURANCE. I just left her office amazed! I had ZERO, YES "0" WAIT TIME! I saw her for FORTY (40) MINUTES! Her office feels high-end; i sat in a beautiful office with floor to ceiling windows overlooking museum district with the FULL ATTENTION of my compassionate and intelligent psychiatrist. This was such a great experience. I was so anxious about having to find a doctor (we moved to Houston from PA) so I just kept putting it off. Dr. Wang made me feel so comfortable and cared for. And I fully trust her judgement. it was a very productive encounter & I thank God I found her!!
