Dr. Joan Ava Lit, MD

I went to see this doctor over three weeks ago and still waiting for answers. I have called several times. She told me she is fast with calls as she is a working mother. I'd be working too if I could get answers. I was able to get a copy of blood tests results online and went to another doctor.

For the first few years, Dr. Lit was a wonderful Dr for me. She was attentive and thorough and I had no problems with her. EXCEPT that she was constantly increasing my insulin because my FBS' were continuing to go up. Since I didn't know any better, I thought it was normal. Then I started noticing that she always seemed pre-occupied during my visit. She was forgetting things, asking questions 2-3 times, and not taking notes carefully on her laptop. It got so disconcerting, that I finally switched dr's. My new endocrinologist told me that I was taking WAY too much insulin, which is why my blood sugars weren't coming down. He got me off of almost everything, reduced my insulin to only one small dose at bedtime, and within 4 months my blood sugars returned to normal. They have been normal, as is my A1C, for 4 years now!

Cold, condescending, and uninterested in my questions and me as a patient. Felt insulted and belittled after seeing her.

Dr. Lit is a fine doctor, but i sit on hold for a LONG time, while just trying to make an appointment. I tried 4 times to schedule an appt and gave up. It is happening right now again. I am at work and am trying to just schedule an appointment.

Dr Lit is wonderful she really goes above and beyond what the Hippocratic oath states and takes an keen interest in the well being of her patients. I wish there were more people like her in the medical profession and in the world generally speaking!

She is very caring and very detail in examining patient. Very professional and to the point. She also give explicit explanation to her diagnosis. Excellent doctor.

Dr Lit was very caring and took time explaining my condition. I was very happy with how she handled the situation and the the follow up.

she doesnt listen at all to your symptoms as long as the labs look ok to her, she just says your fine! even though you may not feel fine
