Dr. Joana Joy Tamayo, MD

I saw Dr. Tamayo for my first pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. The whole experience with her office was awful from start to end, complete with Dr. Tamayo flippantly laughing through the first ultrasound where there was no heartbeat, to not calling me back for 5 full days with HCG results that were to confirm my miscarriage because their phone lines were down, to Melina berating me on the phone for asking to speak to Dr. Tamayo, saying 'if she had time to talk on the phone with you, she wouldn't have time for any other patients,' then when I was firm with her, was told that I needed to treat her like a human being (likewise!!!). No one ever answers the phone. There's no after hours care for anything but life-threatening emergencies. Dr. Tamayo makes you feel like you're in the way of her vacations and spending time with her family. Avoid. Go literally anywhere else.

This is the absolute worst experience I have had with a professional in my entire life. I have been trying to get an appointment with this doctor for over a year, per the recommendation of my primary care physician, and after four canceled interviews I will not only never think of visiting this office but will be telling my primary care physician never to refer this office again. My first appointment was canceled a year ago, rescheduled by this office and then canceled again, and the cycle continued. Each time it was a different excuse. On one occasion, the appointment was canceled the day or so before, on another while I was physically standing in the office. I am so livid and so surprised that such a professional establishment exists that I am nearly at a loss of words.I would honestly never want to do something that would impact a business negatively, but my do they deserve it. The staff was not even apologetic after I received my 4th call to cancel. Absolutely the worst experience.

Dr T. is one of the best OB/GYN out there, she's caring and takes the time to listen. I've never felt rushed. She is young, but don't let that fool you, she's very knowledgeable.

Dr. Tamayo is thorough and caring and professional. She will answer questions and follow up. SHe takes a real interest in her patients.
