Dr. Joanna Macapinlac Delaney, DO

I saw dr delaney for many years. When I moved out of the area I came back to her for a second opinion and was very reassured by her advice.

Dr. Delaney does not follow up with phone calls, referrals, lab tests, and is consistently late to appointments. She is constantly interrupted during appointment time lacks listening skills and doesn't seem to care about her clients. I know this sounds harsh but I'd give Dr Delaney a zero rating not a one-star.

I have been a patient of Potomac Physicians for almost 10 years. I had a very positive relationship with my physician my who left the practice and referred me to dr. Joanna Delaney. Upon meeting dr. Delaney I had hope for the same kind of relationship. Unfortunately this was not the case. In all my 69 years I have never encountered as insensitive a physician as dr. Delaney. At my first appointment I had to wait over an hour and a half for her. I was patient because I understood that there were emergencies. After my appointment dr. Delaney asked if she could send me my four referrals and my prescriptions and I agreed. I never received them I called the office which was documented over 12 times to please have her send them to me. Finally I had to see my cardiologist who ordered blood test almost 1 1/2 months later. I left messages with the office staff to have dr. Delaney call she never did respond. I decided that I would make a complaint to the administration and request a new… physician. Though there were challenges in having a follow-up by the administration it was agreed that they would find me a new doctor I was given the name and an appointment was to be set up. A week later I received a letter from dr. Delaney stating she was terminating me as a patient and that I could not see anyone in the practice at all. I was shocked. Since when does it give a physician a right to terminate a long-term loyal patient because they dropped the ball. Not only was dr. Delaney unprofessional she was unethical.

She has been my dr since i was a young teenager and because of change in insurance, im very sad to have to search for a new dr. As a long term patient i dont have any complaints. Dr Delaney has been there for me thru it all to say the least!

Very good at what she does. I have had many problems that other doctors did not take the time to properly diagnose. However, Dr. D did and a skin problem and ear problem I have had since childhood are now gone. Her staff and nurses are extremely kind as well.

Extremely bad communications on important issues: not calling after serious tests; ridiculous explanations of the results. A lack of knowledge on almost every issue discussed; And, her lab was extremely confused and did the wrong blood work.

I have seen Dr. Delaney a few times.First time while doing a minipulation she told me she does not like doing them.....ok so why do them them was my thought.Second time she was barely with me for 5 minutes dissmissed all my questions and practically ran out of the office. Third time for another minipulation she never showed up! Yikes....I will not go back!

Very complete in diagnosing your illness or pain.Looks for what all possible causes.Doesn't just try to isolate the problem to just one cause.Keeps good historical records of office visits, prescriptions, lab test reports, reasons for visit, treatments,etc.Doesn't hesitate to consult with other doctors about your problems.Keeps records of finding of other doctors (specialist) she refers you to.Does a very good job of checking to see if you are following her instructions after office visits. Will always return your phone calls.
