If I could give a -1, I would. Pay attention to multiple reviews about Dr. Calain's clinical skills. I only met with her once, and can affirm she is apathetic and seemed to be going through the motions.The unethical and unprofessionalism experienced by this physician and Flagler Family Medicine is disturbing. I was unknowingly "released" as a patient as a result of a phone conversation with the physician's assistant or nurse (Maria) where I was contesting a prior authorization policy. There was no yelling, profanity, or even raised voice. It was a conversation, not a confrontation and the conclusion was that the prior authorization would be called in (it never was, nor was I notified it wasn't). She flat out twisted words and said I told her how to do her job (was informing what Aetna told me). I had to call in after my portal was disabled for someone to tell me I was no longer a patient. After being bounced around without an explanation, I had to ask what the cause was and the officer… manager stated it was for my "behavior". I am professional, educated, and a self-aware person who luckily had witnesses who heard my conversation. I am still dumbfounded by this and more shocking I have no recourse to contest or due process. I have now been inconvenienced by them to find another physician, my prescription was not filled, experiencing side effects as a result of that. She also did not even have the human decency to inform me of any of this, but sent a letter. Despicable. This person is unworthy of practicing medicine.

Both my wife and I have been seeing Dr Valain for a couple of years. I was a bit sceptical at first, but I now feel very comfortable with her medical knowledge. During my recent visit she was attentive and genuinely interested in my well-being. The practice sees a lot of patients many older people with complex situations, being 71, I'm one of them and I'm comfortable recommending her.

I urge you to not entrust JODIE CALAIN, DO with your medical well-being. I do, however, recommend her colleagues RUDRA BEHARRYSINGH, MD and DANIEL DONOFRIO, MD. This site limits the length of the review so long story short: Jodie Calain lacks compassion and empathy. I was a patient at this practice (Flagler Family Medicine) for 20 years with Dr Gunn. When he retired I made the mistake of switching to her instead of another physician there. During my last visit, Dr Calain was very callous towards me - even though I was tearful because of the pain I was experiencing (due to a herniated lumbar disc). Even my husband noticed that she had "no compassion" (his words) - and he rarely notices anything except sports! Do not entrust your medical well-being to this woman! Patient who are elderly, ill, injured, in pain need compassion and she is devoid of it. She needs to resign from medical care and go into a line of work where compassion and empathy are not required. Didn’t seem to care or address any of my needs. Walked into room, didn’t make eye contact, extremely distant. Had the attitude of well what do you want me to do about it.

Dr. Calain spent a lot of time reviewing my history and discussing my health problems so that I could understand them. . She reviewed my medications and changed any she or I had concerns about. I found her to be very knowledgeable, pleasant and focused .

I have found Dr. Calain to be very concerned about my health issues. She spends time with you and explains her concerns in plain layman terms for the patient to understand.

Rude to the point of treating patients as if they are a bother. Didnt bother to introduce herself or ask my health status. If you are interested in a pure prescription writer, this is your doctor. I receive more professional treatment at the jiffy lube than here.

Did not follow through on sending script to pharmacy on the day I saw her. Did not return calls the next day and did not submit prescription to pharmacy that day. Very poor patient care. Not sure why. Either not interested, not proficient in computer use, not interested in proper patient care? Don't know.
