Dr. Joel Stephen Cohen, MD

I was quite surprised to see a bad review from a patient who saw Dr. Cohen in May 2019. He retired from practice in early 2018. Most of his patients were upset that they would have to seek care elsewhere.

I was suffering from a condition for about 20 years. It got worse as I got older. I went to Dr. Cohen in hopes of getting some assistance, instead, he added insult to injury. He repeatedly denied me an ultrasound which I was forced to get from another doctor afterwards. I understand that many people get unnecessary tests, but given the length and seriousness of my issue, I was taken aback by the constant refusal of the doctor to allow me piece of mind from such a minor diagnostic test. Ultimately, after having to spend more time and money with other doctors due to Dr. Cohen’s refusal to help me, my suspicions about the cause of my condition were proven correct. Do not subject yourself to this man, he was far from kind and definitely not helpful - contrary to what you would expect from a physician.

If it weren't for how serious my condition turned out to be my whole experience would have been comical. The office staff was so weirdly rude that it was simply jaw dropping. I left three message for the doctor asking for a call back regarding my condition. Not one was returned. Went to another doctor and found out I had rather serious condition. Thanks guys you really are doing a horrendous diservice over there in Chatham.
