Dr. Joel Wayne Goldsmith, MD

It has been several years since I last saw Dr. Goldsmith and I still feel untrusting of doctors to this day because of the bad example he set for me. He was immensely rude, made me feel unwelcome and like I was wasting his time even though I was very worried that I had a life-threatening condition. He made a very inappropriate comment about my weight and I left my exam feeling extremely uncomfortable and ridiculed. To this day, I feel disgusted that I was ever the patient of such an uncaring, unprofessional doctor like Dr. Goldsmith. The entire RWJ system of hospitals and doctor facilities should be ashamed that they have this man representing them in any way. How can someone this terrible still have their license to practice? Just read the other reviews and you'll see it's quite unanimous.

I wish I would of read these reviews before going into the office. This man is so rude and arrogant. You could always tell when someone is disgusted by you just by the way they look at you and the way he would look at me and my fiancé was unprofessional. We let it slide because we usually don’t let others get to us but when I needed to get a pelvic exam, I insisted in having my fiancé with me in the room. He immediately caught an attitude and said the nurse would be with me. Being a sexual abuse victim, this is how I felt comfortable and I have that right to have whomever in the room with me.. but he completely ignored how I felt and wouldn’t continue with the procedure unless my guest left the room. I just got dressed and left.. And not only that, he would ask me a question and wouldn’t even let me answer before cutting me off ! waste of my time ..

Dr. Goldsmith was very condescending. He was also very nosy when he had access to medical records and mentioned something I did not want to recall. I think he’s judgey as well. He didn’t do much about my recurrent uti’s but hopefully my next visit will be better. If I find him incompetent in my next appointment, I will change doctors.

I went to Dr. Goldsmith in 2000, was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Always found him to be patient, concerned and kept me informed of my progress and alternatives available. Excellent surgeon, well respected by staff, nurses in the hospital. I also developed prostate cancer in 2005, which, he treated me for until recommending another doctor (oncologist) for the prostate Dr. Goldsmith treated me for 15 years and as a result I have been free of bladder cancer for the past 3 years. I owe my present quality of life to this doctor.

Dr goldsmith is easy to talk to, always gives me a good exam and explains in easy terms, what he is doing or what I need to do, he always gives a follow up appointment

Do not go to this guy...I went to him because I have a burning sensation in my urine. The guy takes a urine test and then proceeds to give me a rectal exam without even telling me. He just says turn over and then sticks his finger up my azz. That was it. He said your fine. I wanted some more tests done like a blood test but all he said was your fine you don't need one. What a quack! I was shocked..I did'nt even know doctors treat patients like this because this is the first doctor I have ever seen that acts like a condescending moron. This guy has seen that tv show house one too many times and probably thinks that is his hero.

Dr. Goldsmith was the most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen. I knew I was in trouble when I waited in the waiting room for well over an hour. Then, when I was brought back to the office, after having my weight taken, I was sent back into the waiting room for another extended period. While having my weight taken, Dr. Goldmsith could be heard talking with his staff in a very arrogant manner. When I finally saw Dr. Goldsmith, his bedside manner was worse than I expected. He would ask me questions but interrupt all my answers. He came into the room and used the f word because his cell phone was vibrating because he had a message. He told me to wait as he checked his voicemails. Overall, I could not find one positive about Dr. Goldsmith or his office.

Went to this guy a few times. I asked him to order some blood tests for me just to be sure I don't have any STD's while I still had insurance - do you know what he told me: "Go donate some blood - they'll test you". This doctor is a complete idiot.

I saw Dr. Goldsmith 3 months ago and he NEVER followed up with me on my test results. After numerous calls to his office I still haven't heard back from him. Avoid this doctor - you will not get a proper treatment.

Smug, condescending, and arrogant. As a cancer patient, I deserve more. Fired him today- good riddance.
