Dr. Joel Jerry Schnure, MD

No rating. 0 but one star is required for submitting the review. In regards to thyroid complications, this person is clueless and robotic yet is a chief of Endocrinology. This was as mild as I can put it. Radioactive Iodine should be banned from medical practice.

Amazing doctor, honest and knowledgeable. Explains everything and guides you down to the detail. Caring and considerate.

I was a patient of Dr Joel Schnure from November 1973 till about spring of 1999 when he was at practice UHS in Johnson City, New York. I liked Dr Schnure because his motto was If you do not do what is correct in treating type I diabetes do not waste your time, your money and his time. Dr Schnure said you do not fix something that is not broke. He was honest and did not pull punches. Judith Ann Nalepa AGE 68 years old and have been a type I diabetic since May 1962.

Sad, but the fellow was excellent while his attending was rushed, interrupted and uninterested in conflicting test results. "come back in a year" . No wonder he missed a previous reviewers cancer.

Had a lump that doctor decided to wait for a year to do anything about because it was small. Year later it had doubled in size. Doctor ordered a biopsy and found it to be cancer. Even though it may be rare to be cancerous I believe it should have been taken care of when it was originally found. Dr. Schnure is always in a rush at appointments and not a good listener at all. He seems to think he knows what you are going to say before you talk and belittles much of what I say. Later, when he gets bloodwork results he apoligizes and says "know wonder you feel so bad".
