Dr. John Howard Deines, MD

Dr. Deines is one of the worst Doctors in mental health that I have ever experienced. He shuts you down and shuts you up. He does not listen and treats you with old fashioned stigma against people with mental health. He interrupts you and doesn’t allow to you to have a voice or a part in your mental health care. He doesn’t give you a say in your treatment. He is rude and uncaring. He was very triggering to me and caused me to have a panic attack after every time I talked with him, feeling helpless and alone. He made me feel worse, not better.

I have never in my life known a mental health doctor not listen to his patient like Dr. Deines. He will literally interrupt you and shut you down. He will not listen to your experience in medications and what has worked and what hasn't worked for your own body and when he was confronted with that fact he scolded the patient like a child, holding the fact that he is a doctor over there own personal experiences. I wouldn't recommend this man for anyone but maybe dementia patients. He needs to retire.

I have never seen another Physician that was so unwilling to listen and change or alter an opinion/diagnosis. Focus is more on addiction and dependency rather than the possibility of other underlying mental health criteria.
