Dr. John Patrick Difiori, MD

Excellent diagnostician and treatment. Efficient staff. Great experience all around

I was really sorry when Dr. Di Fiori left UCLA to move to New York. He had been our family physician for a couple decades. He was extremely proactive in caring for all three of us, my wife, our son, and me. He was knowledgeable in his field, yet approachable and easy to bring up any concerns with us. He knew how to broach sensitive topics, like my weight, planting a seed in my head so that eventually I got it back under control (losing 60+ pounds in the process). He is a really good doctor.

Arrogant, unprofessional, standoffish, absolutely no bed-side manner. Definitely brings down the reputation of HSS!

I don't know why or how he became a Doctor but all the negative reviews I have read here and on other websites match my experience word by word. This is not about bad bedside manners, this doctor doesn't seem to know how to diagnose the most elementary conditions. I would go as far as to say that seen him is literally dangerous to your health. You have no chance of getting a proper diagnosis from Di Fiori. Go ahead and read the other reviews, dozens of people can't be wrong.

he seems to be in a hurry. He doesn't try to explain and help you understand different options of treatments. When I said something about one option of treatment "as far as I understand . . . ", he said "if that's what you believe . . ." something like that. Instead of explaining it to me further.I don't feel being cared at all by Dr. Difiori. I have to go see him again but I won't, I will go to another doctor.

Wait was pretty bad, but the worst was his "assistant" who took MONTHS to fax my referral. She was full of excuses every singe time we spoke; complete idiot.

Excellent physician. Professional, caring. Couldn't ask for more.

My complaint is not so much with Dr Difiori, but instead with his staff. The people who take your appointment are rude and unproffesional. His assistant seems to be either to busy or incompetent. SHe will claim to call you back in 10min and never call you back. I call back 3 days later and you have to explain all over again why you are calling. Your lucky to even get a call back from her. As for Dr Difiori I cant say he was the best doctor or the worst.
