Dr. John Eiland Jr., DO

Dr. Eiland was very kind and professional. He did an amazing job in removing my left ovary, a large tumor, and the fallopian tube. Thanks to his quick acting surgery, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and was able to have surgery from an oncologist that saved my life. The reason I removed one star is because after my surgery he spoke with my husband and told him he was sure I had cancer but told my husband not to tell me until my next appointment. I feel this was wrong. My husband and I do not keep secrets, so he told me a few days later b/c be felt I needed to know. Also, I never got a post-surgical follow-up appointment due to his nurse cancelling the appointment. She said since I had viewed my results online she didn't think I needed to see the doc again. I should have insisted, but I was still in pain from the surgery and wasn't thinking straight. Because of her, I didn't know the tumor removed from my ovary was also cancerous b/c I did not understand the on-line… pathology report. It was almost a month before I found out. So, zero stars for his nurse, but 4 stars for Dr. Eiland.

Dr. Eiland is currently under probation with the medical board for tricking his lover into letting him perform an abortion on her, when he was pretending to just do exploratory surgery to make sure she wasn't suffering from an ectopic pregnancy.I don't think any woman, especially not a pregnant woman or woman of childbearing age, should trust a doctor who would perform an unsought and unwanted abortion.

We need more Dr. like him. His bed side manner is excellent. He make sure that you leave his office with total understanding of your medical needs. The Grays Harbor Women Clinic has had a bad reputation for awhile, but with Dr. Eiland in the office it will surely turn around. I would be a same if we lost him as a doctor.
