Horrible. Every appointment I had over 2 years was rescheduled. I'm supposed to have 3 moth follow ups. Instead I got 7 month waits. My blood test results were never looked at until my next appointment. 7 months!!!!! The level of care is non existent. Every promise made was not kept. Getting prescription refills required multiple emails, phone calls, time and frustration. In short, you can NOT rely on this person in any way. Lastly, he is a very strange man. I'd never let him care for my dog. Look elsewhere. Seriously

John Fairbanks needs to work on his bed side manner!! I understand why his ratings are so low. If you are looking for a compassionate urologist please read the negative reviews before you deicide. This was my fathers doctor.

To give this “Dr” even 1 star is a stretch! I was referred to him by my PCP. It was the worst experience that I’ve ever received from a Dr. I was asked to provide a urine sample. (still haven’t received the results). Dr. Fairbanks walked in the room and didn’t even introduce himself to me, he just begin to speak. And he continue to say the same things over and over again! When I asked questions he had no answers from me and he was rude and sarcastic! I left the office with no answers to my questions. If you are looking for a urologist.. KEEP LOOKING! I will be going further with my thoughts regarding this Dr. He saw me for 3-4 minutes then he rushed out on to the next patient! Bed side manners are no existent!

Over 1 he wait which receptionist confirmed is a daily event. No respect for clients time.

Dr. Fairbanks has strange bed side manner, often never making eye contact with patient or people in the room. Questions are left unanswered and you will be cut off when asking them. Lab results are not given and when you call no one ever calls back. my father had an infection that went on for weeks treated with all the wrong antibiotics, he lost 40lbs and become extremely weak. We took him to another doctor where lab results revealed he had e coli. All antibiotics prescribed by Dr. Fairbanks were resistant to e coli. I would reconsider if this doctor was a referral from your GP. Be your own advocate, do research.

Saw this doctor on two occasions. Waited nearly an hour before I was able to see the nurse, then another wait after she had checked my vitals. Had a very brief visit with the doctor, a quick diagnosis, and was asked to provide a urine sample. Was told that my next visit would be for a procedure, but when I called to schedule the procedure, was told that I would see a nurse and there would be no procedure. To date, have not received the results of the urine sample I provided.

North Texas Urology clinics are a mill for middle-aged men with prostate issues. Be prepared to see a crowd, and to get 10 minutes or less with the esteemed Dr. Fairbanks. He is abrupt, emotionless, and extremely efficient. I think he's trying to break a record for how many patients he can see in a day. Had a prostate biopsy that took a month to return results. Hopefully you'll have time to wait if you have any tests done. Better use of your time: switch urologists.

I thought the negative reviews for Dr. Fairbanks was very unfair. He is not outgoing and overly friendly but he is an Excellent and Knowledgeable doctor who has helped me. He does listen and he is helpful. He is even very generous with free samples. He does not spend a lot of time with small talk but I like him a lot. I had two other Urologist before him and they did not help me but Dr. Fairbanks is great. I highly recommend him.

I went to Dr. Fairbanks 11 years ago for a Vasectomy. No nurses were in the room, just him and me. He was rushed, almost like he was in a race. Turns out he messed something up because he took about an extra 20 minutes on one side. I had a lot of swelling and infection so I went back for a follow-up. He just prescribed me antibiotics and sent me on my way. I have had pain ever since for the last 11 years. I think he let the vas slip back in and then he had to go and "fish" it out. No telling what else he severed while in there, but he never seemed interested to see me again after that. I have been to a couple of other urologists since then, but there is no way to know what is causing the pain since everything "works". I ordered the notes a few years later and nothing was documented as out of the ordinary for the procedure. I just knew something was wrong from the get-go though since it took so long on one side vs. the other. Save yourself years of misery and avoid this doctor.

I previously went to another doctor that adamantly denied the fact that I had IC. In total I have been seen by 12 doctor from all medical backgrounds and was getting no where. I went to see Dr. Fairbanks and I admit that he is a little quirky but he listened to everything that I had been through and was the first doctor to help me get some relief. Although I do not want to take medication forever, it has made me feel like myself. Dr. Fairbanks was the only doctor that believed me. His staff of nurses is nice, but there is one in particular that rubs me the wrong way every time I go there.
