Dr John Gelly

Dr. Gelly took the time and concern to listen to all my health problems and offer solutions that actually worked. I got rid of 2 other doctors and see Dr. Gelly for all my health care needs.

Dr. Gelly himself seems to be knowledgeable doctor; but the management of the practice and communication with patients is poor. In dealing with an expired prescription, numerous misstatements and lies were told to me, no apology was ever given and Gelly was very defensive and deflecting of my complaint and concerns. I was never told that the prescription refills for a non-controlled substance (B12 injections) were limited and required a visit every 6-12 months. I learned only after calling once the refill was denied. Interestingly, this was at month 16, so they didn't even follow their own 6-12 month requirement. Office manager Susan told me there was a policy change to 12 months after a DEA audit. Dr. Gelly said the policy always was 12 months (which conflicts with the 16 months of refills and Susan's reference to a "change in policies"). As to the DEA audit, they only audit controlled substances, so this was an outright lie. When asked why they didn't call me to notify me of… a change in policy, Office Manager Susan said they have too many patients and that's too much trouble for them to do. Luckily this wasn't some essential drug because if effort is required of them, then a patient's health is a secondary consideration. I will be changing Doctors as I cannot abide a doctor who refuses to admit fault when clearly it is theirs not mine, refuse to acknowledge my concerns, refuse to investigate and take corrective action on complaints, and are dismissive of patient complaints and concerns.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gelly's for over 10 years. He is always very thorough. He is a very caring person and gives me all the time I need when I am in his office. I never feel rushed or like I am just a number. I would recommend Dr. Gelly to anyone.

He took a lot of time going over my history and was not in a hurry. He seemed to really be concerned with my health and gave me a lot of advise. His nurse was exceptional also. I would and have recommended him to my husband, mother, father and friends. I had been with a dr. for over40+ yrs and chose Dr. Gelly after a lot of research and am very pleased.

My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Gelly for 2 yrs now and couldnt be happier with him, his nurse Katy and our overall experience. He is thorough, caring and accommodating. He and Katy both go out of their way.

My elderly parents began going to Dr. Gelly after having a doc who wasn't a good fit for them. My Dad has senile dementia and Dr. Gelly is wonderful with him. My Mom was very ill at Christmas time, rare for her, and when I took her to see him I was thankful for such a caring physician for her. He asked about Dad while we were there, too, and is obviously engaged with my folks. What a comfort...plus he did not require Mom to go into the hospital for her pneumonia, but agreed that if she had care at home (her adult kids) she didn't need to be admitted. Big relief!
