Dr. John Kurt Grebe, PhD

I saw Dr. Grebe for 6 long years for PTSD and undiagnosed BPD. I described my attachment to him many times but he assured me he “wasn’t going anywhere.” We developed a strong bond and therapeutic relationship until I was officially diagnosed correctly. He still wanted to press on and said he would “learn DBT.” Next session he flipped and shook the papers in my face stating, “I can’t learn this....I have never seen anyone for six years.” (Of which I recently found a post from 2013 where he did exactly that...the story sounded just like mine...someone else he saw six years, hmmmmm). I did not come back after that despite his scheduling another appointment?!? How could I return after that?! Because of my history of multiple losses and abandonment, he agreed I could continue to see him from time to time. He assured this many times when I blatantly asked. Then, from out of nowhere he said he needed a “week to reconsider.” He then told me that I could not return. I feel he… practiced out of his scope, kept me with hope that was all phony and ultimately destroyed me mentally. If that was the case, he should have stopped treatment after year 2,3,4,5,6........Now I feel to blame!!!! I need therapy and DO NOT want to start over after building that relationship and then a horrific ending.
