Dr. John Arthur Kefer, MD

This is a comment which I've harbored for years. It is moot in that my father is now deceased. When I accompanied my elderly father to an appointment in order both to spare him the drive, and to become more informed about his treatment, and briefly expressed surprise at his low BP reading Dr. Kefer grimaced and asked me if I wanted to take the reading myself. I waited for the visit to finish to ask Dr. Kefer if he ever had dealt with family members who were involved in a patient's care. Rather than respond he told me (for reasons not clear) that I came to the office with a "reputation". My only previous contact with his office had been with his NP who had found no concern with my father in spite of the presence of some symptoms at which point I had stated, admittedly rather dryly "We'd like to see the cardiologist". I let Dr. Kefer, both calmly and clearly know that as a woman in my 50s, and as someone involved in my father's care that I would not countenance being spoken to in… certain tones. Some weeks later my father received a letter from Dr. Kefer's office stating that not only would Dr. Kefer no longer agree to see my father as his patient, but that all other cardiologists in the practice were also barred from accepting him as a patient. Subsequently my father's care was transferred to Dr. Syed Hasan about whom, and about whose office I have only praise and thanks

Dr.Kefer is a clown. This individual should not be allowed to practice medicine. Clearly he was the kid that thrived on the participation trophy -- rude, unintelligent about his craft, uncaring etc.. the list goes on and on. If you have to see a cardiologist -- please stay away from this one.

I have never written a review for a doctor before but I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. Simply put, Kefer is the worst, most condescending person I have ever met in my life. He did not listen. He did not return phone calls. He constantly interrupted me and treated me as though I was a tiresome child rather than a 70-year old intelligent patient. As you might guess, this man possesses no sensitivity and exactly zero empathy. He is a rude, arrogant, horrible person who should have his medical license taken away.
