Dr. John David Maskill, MD

I wouldn't usually write a review, but he is one of the most disrespectful people I've met. I heard him demeaning staff and making innapropriate and racist jokes before I drifted asleep for my operation. You can tell he thinks he is better than everyone else. I had to get a revision of my operation, not a normal outcome.

Dr Maskill was very prompt and friendly. He was able to explain the hammer toe problem and possible surgery in laymen’s terms he was not pushy about surgery and put it on my shoulders to make my own decision

I dont take time to do surveys and ratings but believe when something or someone is good, they deserve to be recommended. I came for a second opinion and was blown away at the 180 degree difference in care and time Dr. Maskill took with me. Genuine attention and patience as well as an unhurried demeanor. Entire procedure was handled very professionaly BUT with a kind and curtious personal touch. Great bedside mannors. Would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Maskill thoroughly examined my foot and pinpointed my problems. He showed me the xray and explained possible surgical treatment. And to be on the safe side as to whether bones are healed enough to remove plates and screws, he ordered a CAT scan. I feel he listens, explains, and makes expert decisions. Best Ortho doctor ever.

If he says "calcaneal osteotomy” to you, run. If you need it, get it elsewhere. He didn't consult with me that my surgery might include a gastroc recession (I never would have consented). I woke up and it was done. I lost explosive performance. Chronic pain forced me to give up sports. My quality of life went down. I’m worse off than before the surgery—much worse. Years on, I'm still in PT trying to reclaim what I lost. Still dealing with pain. Still regretting the day I let this guy and his pet procedure anywhere near my ankle.

Left with nerve damage....waited 2 hrs. For re schedule appt then waited 1hr 45 min.....still have not seen him since surgery 8 mo. Ago....nerve damage and can’t get appt to c him....Jeanette visser

I am pleased with the care I receive, but I know it is up to me to ensure follow up is done. In almost every case, prescriptions are changed with absolutely no follow up. Blood tests return with abnormal results and I hear "it is probably this or that and is probably temporary", again with no follow up.
