Dr. John Anthony Nassar, MD

Dr. Nassar is a very kind, soft spoken and caring man. His demeanor puts you immediately at ease. He takes all the time needed to answer questions and advise you of the situation.

I was very impressed with Dr. Nassar. He is knowledgable and listens well. I was trying to avoid surgery, and he was not adverse to that, even though he makes his money doing surgery. He wanted to help me regardless.

For the past 20 years I have been limping with a painful foot due to a serious ankle sprain combined with poor medical treatment. A couple of years ago, I went to see Dr. Nassar . He listened to me carefully and took several X-rays. I asked him about the progression of my foot. Rather than suggest surgery he made some practical suggestions, and then said "When it's time for surgery I won't have to tell you, you'll tell me". I appreciated that approach, and waited until I could barely walk before undergoing reconstructive foot surgery. Now just two and a half months later, my bones are aligned and my physical therapist (someone I chose) is amazed at how quickly I'm progressing. I highly recommend Dr. Nassar and his friendly staff. I found him to be compassionate, professional, and humble. A rare combination!

It's rare nowadays to find a doctor who takes the time to genuinely listen to your issues and actually provide a solution! I found Dr. Nassar in an internet search for "best orthopedic surgeons". I'd intended to see another ortho who'd been recommended by a friend, but that doc rescheduled my consult and I ended up seeing Dr. Nassar first. I was so impressed with his professionalism, compassion, and great bedside manner, that I didn't bother with my other consultation and went with my intuition. It was a very good decision! I never felt other than very confident in Dr. Nassar's expertise. My foot healed so well from the surgery that my primary care doctor could barely detect a scar! Dr. Nassar's staff is as kind and concerned as he is....clearly they do care about their patients. I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Nassar and recommend him to everybody needing a great orthopedic specialist.

Dr. Nassar is a very skilled and knowledgeable foot and ankle surgeon. He shows concern for his patient, and having seen many orthopedic specialists in my life, I can say that he is uniquely special. He reconstructed my ankle and performed micro fracture, and a physical therapist who I chose because of history even said that he sees patients from other doctors with the same procedure who have gruesome incision sights with substantially more trauma than I had post-op. This is a physical therapist who had no referral relationship with Dr. Nassar who said that his work was that of an artist, not just a doctor. I have had occasion to see Dr. Nassar since for another injury. While I hope that I never have any additional problems to lead me to him again, I look for opportunities to refer others who need his services to him. Ironically, his greatness is surely, in part, due to his commitment and specialization to the foot and ankle, and I find myself wishing he was a general… orthopedic surgeon so that when I had injuries to other joints I could go to this trusted doctor. I couldn't, and found that not everybody is as great at their narrow speciality as Dr. Nassar is at his. This doctor should received awards in his field.

This doctor came highly recommended to me. I was so pleased to find myself in a small, traditional doctor's office where everyone was kind, patient and attentive. He seemed very capable, professional and I trust I would be in excellent hands if he performed surgery. I didn't feel like there was emphasis placed on how to recover from my injury slowly and what to do/not to do step-by-step to increase odds of healing without the need for surgery. There was absolutely no pressure to do surgery, but also absolutely no game plan for how to avoid. More of a "good luck" and if it doesn't work do surgery. Whereas others have since given me extensive instruction on do's and don'ts in the form of aids, stretches, exercises etc. Which gives me the tools to increase my chance of natural recovery and confidence if I end up in surgery I exhausted all avenues first. For this reason only and with great regret as I loved the practice overall I've gone elsewhere. I'm not as comfortable or casual… about surgery and want to avoid at all costs. But it is a great office and he is no doubt very capable. So I would highly recommend you give him a try, but always be proactive in your own health too.

I would refer anybody who would listen to me to Dr. Nassar. The first time I saw Dr. Nassar, he spent 30-40 minutes with me, and I have never seen a doctor that gave the level of compassion, and he explained his findings very clearly. He pointed out things on the MRI that he disagreed with and things that were unnoticed. My physical therapist (who I picked myself and who did not have a relationship with Dr. Nassar) said that the work that he saw was pure art, and the quality of surgeon was obvious from looking at the incision. Dr. Nassar's follow up was fantastic. I can not say enough good things about this doctor.

Dr. Nassar is the very, very best Dr. I have ever seen - he is unbelievable. I adore his calm, his insight and his compassion. You will wish EVERY Dr. you see could be like him.

Dr. Nassar could not diagnose the problem with my foot. He took 3 x-rays and based his conclusions on the x-rays. He did not take enough time to find the problem and sent me home $245 lighter and with the problem unresolved. My conclusion is that Dr. Nassar does not care about the patient. He did manage to get in and out of my case in less than 10 minutes, thereby insuring his hourly billable rate of $1500/hour. He accomplished his goal, but did not fix the problem I paid to have fixed.
