Dr. John R. Nicholson, MD

He's very young, which isn't a problem but he DOES NOT LISTEN to patients. I pulled my records out of his office due to severe joint paint (to the point of not being able to walk) that was chemo induced. When I called for help, I was told, by his nurse, to call my PCP!! Right, I'm going to go to a PCP for side effects from chemo! I read each doctor's note in my file. While he lists the basic idea, he does not get the facts straight. I didn't realize that until I pulled my records. A doctor needs to listen to a patient in order to be effective. Another thing about this doctor: when I complained that my pain management was not be handled properly (I have Stage III cancer) I asked about adjuvant meds in addition to oxycodone. He had NOT discussed them with me previously and I learned about them by doing my own research. But in the last report (for my last visit) he lied and said he had discussed Gabapentin with me on my first visit. That's absolutely not true and it's not… documented anywhere on his notes on any visit I had with him. He simply lied to cover his a@@. Better find someone who will listen and write down your concerns that are actually being discussed, not someone who half listens, then gets it wrong or decides to lie about what was discussed. Lastly, I'm scheduled for breast reconstruction and asked TCC to communicate with my surgeon to remove my Port-a-cath during reconstruction. The breast surgeon requests confirmation that chemo is over before he takes the Port out. TCC said that Nicholson will not talk to my surgeon because he is no longer my doctor. This is a retaliatory tactic. I had to jump through hoops to go around him. Nicholson is unprofessional. Before giving up, I reached out to TCC's manager and asked if they'd send my oncology records to the surgeon, but my request fell on deaf ears. They refused to confirm chemo is over so I could get this unused Port out. It's unprofessional and indicative of the entire place. My advice is to steer clear of Nicholson and TCC.
