Dr. John Kevyn Otero

I have been his patient for many years. I miss him dearly. I have followed him from one medical place to another. I won't be going to GA however if he should come back to FL, I WILL BE LOOKING HIM UP. He is the kindest , most caring, and overall helpful doctor in keeping me healthy. He would talk to you as a great friend and he would remember what you had talked about the last time you was there.We miss him sooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello my name is Peggy and I was a patient of Dr Kevin otero in St Petersburg Florida until he decided to move to Atlanta and work with the sports medicine group in Roswell or off of Roswell road I should say. Doctor O was a wonderful doctor and a good surgical doctor I was sad to see him leave and I do have to say that he was not a pill Pusher of any sort he was kind, honest, caring, had good bedside manners and he answered any questions that you had for him. I hope you all enjoy Dr k otero as your doctor and I hope DOCTOR K OTERO that you are enjoying where you're at right now and thanks for leaving us in St Pete LOL we miss you. I have been to several providers for my condition and Dr. Otero has been the best. His patience is remarkable. You will not feel rushed or as if you are an inconvenience. He actually takes the time to listen at your complaints and concerns. He explains everything with such detail and he's thorough. He makes sure you have everything you need from paperwork to equipment. Honestly this man has a very peaceful nurturing spirit about him. I immediately felt calm and relaxed when he came into the exam room. His staff members are also very professional and polite. I'm so thankful for them.

I think is the best. He has help me so much. Treat me with compassion. Very professional. Very good Dr.

I have had several car accidents ( not my fault ) since I was a young adult, and a number of falls, resulting in Injuries and fractures. I'm almost 70 years young and I thank my doctor for giving me back my self-worth. I feel as if I am a new person. I can make up my bed, do a little cooking, drive my car long distances, sit for a couple of hours, and travel by airplane long distances around our country. Airport walking is tough on anyone's body parts; the airlines provides a wheelchair at my request. When I reach my destination, my family knows I need to rest up. I TRAVEL TO TAMPA WHEN I SEE OTERO. IT TAKES ABOUT 90 MINUTES ONE WAY. FOR THE FIRST THREE MONTHS OF SEEING HIM, HE WOULD PRESCRIBE MEDS WHICH I COULD NOT FIND IN TAMPA. I HAD TO RETURN TO MY HOME TOWN TO FILL THEM. THE PHARMACY HAD THE MEDS, BUT WOULD NOT FILL THE RX'S. THE DOCTOR DID NOT INCLUDE A NUMBER OF REQUIRED INSTRUCTIONS THAT PHARMACISTS NO LONGER IGNORE SINCE 2013. I WOULD HAVE TO RETURN TO THE OFFICE IN TAMPA TO GET A PROPER RX. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. IT HAS ONLY STOPPED SINCE I HAVE EDUCATED MYSELF ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE EXPRESSED ON THE RX. I NOW SPEND TWENTY MINUTES READING THE RX'S AND ON TWO OCCASSIONS ALL OF THE RX'S WERE NOT ADEQUATE TO GET FILLED UNTIL THE QUANTITY ORDERED MATCHED THE AMOUNT WRITTEN. OR THE DOSAGE STRENGTHS ACTUALLY WERE CORRECT OR THE DAILY AMOUNT TAKEN WHEN MULTIPLED BY 30 ADDED UP TO THE QUANTITY PRESCRIBED. FORTUNATELY THE DOCTOR DID NOT HAVE TO MAKE THESE CHANGES. THE PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK WOULD GET INTO THE COMPUTER AND MAKE THE… CORRECTIONS. THIS PREVENTED ME FROM HAVING TO DRIVE AN ADDITIONAL 3 HOURS. AND TAMPA TRAFFIC AFTER 2PM IS JUST HORRIBLE. I AM NO LONGER WANTING TO SEE OTERO AND HOPING TO FIND SOMEONE CLOSE TO MY HOME TOWN. THIS IS GOOD BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THIS DOCTOR WITHOUT GOING OVER THE THIRTY DAY MEDICATION LIMIT. SO I GUESS OTHERS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE OFFICE.

I rated caring low because even though Dr.Otero personally might be extreamly nice,if you are not independantly wealthy;or can hold the best insurance;does not matter,you will never see him.I was a patient of his,and TPR for some 12 yrs.I thought they were the best Dr's that I've ever been with,and I've been in Pain mgnt for some 40 yrs.I've had my fair share of " Bad Dr's".The problem with their office was;they drop insurances.They never take the time to explain your conditions to you,so you fully understand what is wrong with you either,making treatment outside their office,close to impossible.After 12 yrs,I did not know what was causing all my trouble,until the next center dropped me off of TPR's treatment,and brought me to a near death experience. I had no idea how all my conditions linked.I can say nothing is more distressing,or devestating to a patients care, than your Dr. dropping your insurance.No warnings either.My explanation was,that it wasn't because they were not paying… my claims,but because they made the paperwork too difficult to fill out . ????.That did not make me feel any better.He hit me right in my feeling of self worth.I have put myself into some 20 grand in debt,because of it;because they offer Care Credit instead of options.Being disabled,and with Pre-Existing multible conditions...I can't even buy insurance;or find any other one Dr. qualified to handle my case.On top of it,when I tried to find an office that "does' take my insurance;because of the system of sending scripts to the front,and whichever Dr. is on hand to sign them;I got tagged as a "Doctor Chaser" even though I was under the same roof the whole time.Because I ran out of credit,and could not pay for all the proceedures,their office spiked the cost of even walking into the door.That was how they managed to get rid of me as a patient;since I never did anything to be dismissed.The policy of the patient paying for constant drug monotoring was just rediculous.Not fair to the patients that never did anything wrong,to make them pay for others mistakes;instead of putting that money toward treatments.Thus,keeping medication dependance lower. I won't ever have a chance to share that thought with Dr. Otero,or Dr. Guirgus about that,because I can not afford to see them anymore; put into unqualified hands as a multible chronic sufferer, as a result.I have been paying the price since.Physically,emotionally and mentally.Explanations,and help with how to obtain insurance in order to keep him as a Dr. would have been better than just making it unaffordable.I was abandoned "again". Not good for a patients Phyche.

This is one of the best offices I have ever been to. I have been a patient here for about 18 months and I am treated with the utmost respect no matter how minor my problem might be. The staff are wonderful,scheduling is easy and everyone is very nice. Dr.Otero took his time as he does everytime I see him.I love the nurse practitioners as they explain in great detail all procedures and really care about what is being done and the course of treatment chosen.The quality of my life has increased and I feel alive again thanks to this wonderful doctor!
