Dr. John Sherrill, MD

Was satisfied with Dr. Sherrill. Office management was the poorest I have ever seen. Not a problem until; I had a medical issue. I called several timers. Got a recording but never received a call back. Ended up going to a pain clinic twice. Cumberland emergency twice where I received an MRI and Xrays. Ended up in Cookeville regional where I was diagnosed and scheduled for emergency surgery the next morning. I changed medical offices after being released from the hospital. Had yet gotten a call back.

Left office not with a particular issue with Dr Sherrill but rather how the office operates. Called a number of times and got the typical "will return your call within..." I ended up going to the pain clinic twice and Cumberland Emergency three times and was sent to Cookeville where I found out that "They missed something". Ended up in emergency surgery for an abyss on the base of my spine.

The Doctor appears skeptical of symptoms and seems to disregard current medical practices - although it was unclear as if his focus is "self healing" meaning meditation, nutrition and exercise for total body healing or if he is simply disgusted with "new wave" healthcare sales models in general (ie: hormone replacement ) which is quite possibly honest and right on target - as many charge high co-pays and promise miracles. Read review of hormone replacwment patients before making a decision. Overall his approach is a little rough, but knowledgable and direct. Not the greatest bedside manner - so don't wear your thin skin ;).

I see Joan and she is awesome. Always very thorough and answers questions & provides guidance. Understands that some things are financially difficult, especially with medication costs, and will always do her best to give medicines that are available with a low, or often NO costs for me. I trust Joan & feel I am in very capable hands.
