Dr. John David Zdral

Every time I go in for follow up or check up Dr. says "your eyes are doing good”, cuts short any question you have, just agrees with what YOU mention might help your discomfort, and doesn’t explain what the problem of discomfort might be, or else hands you a pamphlet with a prescription I didn’t even fill since it didn’t even match my symptoms. Then he walks you to the receptionist to schedule another appointment.

I waited for over 90 minutes to be seen. I arrived early to my appointment and the 90 minute wait time is after my scheduled appointment time. I understand there is prep work such as digital eye exam(3 minutes), eye pressure check(5 minutes),pupil dilation(15-20 minutes) and photographs(2 minutes) but even after all of that despite having the first appointment of the day and being early, I still had to wait for a room. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. i had to wait 25 minutes before they started all of the tests. the nurses weren't even talking to each other and the second nurse that came to examine me had to ask the first what she did and didn't do. Why the process even took 2 nurses is beyond me. On top of all of that, the doctor spent less than 2 minutes in the room talking to me. He basically said "your eyes still look good" and walked me to the receptionist to schedule another appointment. As if i would go back after that kind of service. Other ophthalmologists I have been to did not make me… wait so long before starting the testing and spent at least 10 minutes talking to me about my results afterwards.

Once Dr. Zdral was in the room, he rushed through the results and spent less than 2 minutes talking with me before escorting me to make another appointment. Such a waste of my time. I supposedly had the first appointment of the day and still had to wait despite being early to my appointment. On top of that, the medical assistants/nurses were condescending and did not communicate with each other.

So far he and the office he works at have been better than other Dr's and offices I've gone to in the past, however we're not done yet... If he is an M.D., why could he not just order the blood tests instead of making me find and go to a regular doctor to get them ordered? Or is this just more B.S. from our current healthcare state of dis-affairs??

Dr. Zdral is fine as long as there is not a serious condition. I have been his patient for years, but when I had a serious eye condition he was not sure and let it drag on for two weeks before ordering further tests.

Dr. Zdral became my physician after I sufferred a dog bite injury to my eye. He fought for me as the insurance company felt the surgery was "cosmetic." The emergency room doctor left me with an unsightly canopy over my eye which blocked peripheral vision, Dr. Zdral got me corrective surgery. Today, I feel a lot more confident in my appearance and my vision is unimpaired. The staff is friendly, and getting an appointment is easy. Thank you Dr. Zdral, for my vision, and my confidence!
