Dr. John Valdis Zudans, MD

The support staff that works there is amazing but Dr Zudans, although a very skilled Dr is a pompous jerk. I was warned by friends he had a terrible bedside manner but in the beginning that didn’t concern me, I wanted a Dr with a good skill reputation. He did cataract surgery on me and witching 3 months I needed the film layered off. I’m still having vision issues so returned today. Today I fired him. I don’t go to a Dr. to be yelled at, talked down to, or dismissed. He doesn’t invite questions or concerns, he dictates and walks out. I am very sure there are equally skilled eye Doctors in the area that actually care about their patients, care to build a trusting repor with their patients but he is not one of them.

Per release of information, our agency reached out to Dr. Zudens to advocate for the needs of an indigent patient. Diagnosed with bilateral cataracts in early 2017, this individual was still on the waiting list for needed surgery until Dr. Zudans' help. Florida Eye Institute is a valuable resource in Indian River County with an admirable commitment to the health, wellness and vision of its residents. I cancelled my surgery because my insurance did not cover All costs. Dr. Staff called a few days later saying they had good news. Was told Dr. Would wave additional ?charges. Ended up having to pay the $500.00 that caused me to cancel in the first place. Poorly communicated. Dr called me about the problem and said he believes his staff. Advised me not to give a negative review.

Recently had cataract surgery. Dr. Zudans and his staff are professional, efficient, and caring.
