I just had my one year check-up following hip surgery with Dr. Hop, and I continue to be impressed. From the very beginning, the entire team made sure I was well informed - throughout every stage, from pre-op to recovery - with daily text, helpful guidance and clear updates on what to be expected. Dr. Hop is absolutely one of the best orthopedic doc’s I’ve had. He listens, takes his time and works with me instead of pushing me towards immediate surgery and offering injections and alternatives for pain relief. When that time comes and surgery is necessary, Dr. Hop will be the only doc I’ll trust to do it.

I've received excellent care from Dr. Hop and his staff at Shoreline Orthopedics. Dr. Hop took the time to explain what the x-rays revealed and the possible treatment options along with a realistic assessment of the benefits and risks. He is kind and understanding, easy to talk to, and he helped me make the right treatment decision for me.

Dr. Hopp gave me a thorough review of my MRI results using the images and a knee model. He answered all of my questions to my complete satisfaction. He gave me a Cortisone injection to alleviate my pain and explained that I could possibly need another 3 months from my visit. He also told me that unfortunately, I would most likely need a total knee replacement during the fall season of this year. Dr. Hopp visit was a confirmation of what I had surmised from previous diagnostic results. Thank you Dr. Hopp for being so very thorough with me during my exam.

I went to him because I had accompanied my elderly mom through a knee replacement 10-12 years ago. I thought I remembered good things about him. Either I was wrong or he has changed as he got older. He may be very competent but I found him cold and distant and very dismissive of my desire for a TKA due to my obesity. He maybe needed to say no (although there’s a whole discussion going on about the ethical question of access to care v a patient’s right to accept less ideal statistical results) but the manner in which he did it was insulting and unfeeling. I felt like crying when I left the appointment.

Dr. Hop and his PA Elizabeth (office staff too)are wonderful professionals I had for both my knee replacements in 2018. I can’t say enough about the care, TLC and information I was given over the past year. I had both surgeries at Holland Hospital and I’m glad to have had such caring, hands on nursing and support staff to assist me with my recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Hop & Co. for for any procedure (especially knees)you need now or in the future. These new knees have changed my life, after being sedentary for 2+ years.

Shoreline Orthopaedics in Holland, Michigan has the best surgeon in Dr. Jon Hop! I was suffering in unbearable pain from osteo-arthritis in my hips and right knee. The pain was so unbearable that I didn't know how I would be able to survive. Dr. Hop performed surgeries on my hips and right knee; hip replacements and a knee replacement. He completely changed my life forever and took the "pain" away. I just completed a walking tour of Prague, The Czech Republic. Thank-you, Dr. Hop!
