Dr. Jon Fredrick Robinson, MD

I was at Rocky Mountain Surgical Center with the IV in place. No sedation yet. Dr. Robinson came in and marked the toes he was going to fix. When I pointed out that he missed the big toe on my left foot he said, "Oh, we never discussed that! I don't have time to do that!" We not only discussed it when I met him in his office, but he told me then that it was worse than the bunion that I had on my right foot big toe. I said, "We can do both feet at the same time?" He said, "Yes!" I also had a message in the Patient Portal asking him why his notes did not say anything about my left foot big toe, and only mentioned my 4th toe on that foot. He replied telling me the medical terms for the procedure and reassured me that we were fixing both feet. I had yet another response from him in the portal responding to my questioning if I would be wearing boots on both feet. He replied, "boots on both feet." This supported the fact that he would be fixing both feet completely and not just the 4th toe… on my left foot. He only needed to shave some bone off that 4th toe and I would not need to wear a boot if he wasn't fixing the left big toe as well. The morning of surgery he told me that he tells all of his patients, "We CAN do both feet at the same time, but it is better to do just one at a time." He never said any such thing to me, and I would have been okay with only working on my right foot and waiting to do my left. Or, fixing my right foot, and 4th toe on my left foot and waiting to fix the big toe on my left foot. He gave me two choices of how to proceed and left the room. The nurse came back in and said, "He gave you two choices, but he didn't tell you that you have a third choice. You can cancel. I am your advocate." I did cancel, and I am so grateful for that nurse who was my advocate that morning! I now have an appointment with Dr. Rice at Billings Clinic Bozeman and look forward to his assessment of my feet and a much better experience!

Robinson’s interest in my bone spur was minimal. Granted, it was only on my foot, but then, he IS a “foot doc”. The post surgery course was significantly more painful than similar procedures I’ve had, and the wound became infected despite being kept clean, dry and otherwise being given pristine care. But mostly, it was Robinson’s attitude, one of annoyance, that keeps me from recommending him or, by extension, his practice (Bridger). There is no excuse for sloppy work and even less for doctors who are more interested in themselves than the welfare of their patients.

An egotistical man who admits that he "..is just a bone doctor" so he can't be expected to know or be accountable for spot major infection or to properly close an incision.

I was taken in as soon as I finished my paperwork. It was an emergency appointment as I had broken my ankle that morning. He clearly explained what would happen today and what would happen with the surgery. He allowed my husband to be a part of the process. The surgery was quick, and he visited with us afterward and even got us a photo as a souvenir.

I saw Dr Jon Robinson 20 months ago for a torn meniscus and swollen Achilles at my ankle. The diagnosed the meniscus but blew me off about my swollen ankle. I think if he had taken this issue serious at the time I would not be having so much trouble with it today. He was in such a rush to get thru his appointment he doesn't make for a good doctor. I will not use him again.

Dr. Robinson took great care of my foot fracture. Thanks to him I'm back to sports. His staff and office were also very caring and attentive to my needs. Great job all around.

I have nothing but positive comments about Dr Robinson and the staff at Bridger Orthopedic. I felt well attended to by their competent staff. He spent personal time with me. I was not sent to his PA. He returned every call. I had an involved and difficult procedure and made a better than expected recovery. 6 years later I am experiencing an active athletic lifestyle that I thought would be much more diminished due to my injury. In full confidence I can recommend Dr Robinson for your foot and ankle orthopedic care.
