Pain in knee. After examination, I was presented with the option of wearing a knee brace or going for an MRI. After going for MRI, my knee showed no issues. Today's visit was to go over MRI, which showed nothing. My knee concern was pain, which was less during this visit. I told him that my knee would pop and then I would have to force something in my knee to move in order to straighten my knee. This issue has occurred since I was younger, perhaps 10 years prior. It was only this constant, every day pain that I decided to see what was wrong with my knee before the issue became an issue more difficult to solve. When I asked what could be wrong with my knee that would cause it to be unable to straighten until I painfully forced whatever it was back into place, he scoffed and said, "I don't know. I have weird things going on with my joints but I don't run to get an MRI for them! And I'm not going to spend an hour to watch you walk and make a guess." 1. I never asked him to spend an hour… watching me walk. 2. Something in my knee popping and then causing me to have to painfully force my leg to straighten after popping whatever it was back into place is not something "weird" that happens to my body. It's something that causes me a lower quality of life because I can't hike, play with my children, do any of the other active things that I enjoy doing. He's leaving his current practice soon and I can't help but wonder if whatever is causing him to leave the practice is the reason he decided to treat me with such a dismissive attitude. By the way: Why would he imply that my decision to have an MRI was an incorrect one when he was the one who felt a ligament, said it felt "weird" and then gave getting an MRI as one of the options of what I could do? It makes no sense. People typically act in a superior, condescending attitude when they're unprepared to provide quality work. We find these attitudes in the lazy and I am not impressed.
