Dr. Jonathan Oren Harris, MD

I have been seeing Dr Harris at Endwell Family for many many years. He and his staff are very attentive to my concerns and needs. They all are very caring . Linda B

I saw Dr. Harris for numbness/tingling I was feeling in my fingers. Although he correctly identified the problem as a nerve impingement in my elbow he wanted to refer me for surgery to have it corrected. Then luckily, just by chance, I was talking to his nerve conduction technician who recommended that I stretch my wrist by mild forced extension. That cleared it up within a day! It's been several years and just by doing the stretching for 30 seconds a day it hasn't come back. I've since made 5 attempts at having my tests results and his notes sent to me and all have been completely ignored. I'm asking for the Florida Board of Medicine to help me. I believe the other bad reviews.

He said I didn't have MS and that I was just depressed. Later I found out indeed I did have MS. Additionally, he diagnosed me with optic neuritis and then went on a month long vacation without following up. I was unable to get the IV steroids I needed because he was away and the receptionist said there was nothing that could be done. He was also prone to angry outbursts during my time with him. It doesn't get much worse than this. Truly a horrific experience.

His bedside manner is horrible. He made me wait two hours and did not say a word when he came in to the room, he didn’t even greet me. He took a phone call from a patient while in the room with me and then forgot what we were talking about (I was describing my pain/issues). He didn’t even apologize for being so rude. He is a grumpy old man who doesn’t seem to care about his patients. I will be seeing another neurologist.

Went to him for a while. I should have switched to another neurologist sooner. His diagnostic skills and bedside manner are horrible. He continually downplayed my severe symptoms. He seemed unconcerned and bored during my visits, like he was going through the motions. He had no warmth or caring. He also seems moody--He was nice the first couple visits, but mostly a jerk on subsequent visits. Additionally, he takes long vacations and no other doctor at his office covering for him--he says they do, but they don't. He also will not take phone calls from patients, the wait time is long in the waiting room (about an hour), it takes a while to get an appointment with him even in emergency, and his secretary or office manager lady is somewhat mean as well. When someone has MS or another serious neuro condition, they really need a better doctor than this. When my husband came with me, my husband also couldn't believe how awful he was. I would never go back to him and I wish I had switched… neuros sooner. I suspect he is depressed and burned out because of all the years not being able to help MS patients. Please do not go to this man. He needs to retire and let someone who cares take over.

was told dr was running behind because of having to use new computer equipment. Sign in sheet showed 4 other patients with 10am appt. took 3 calls during visiting which seems none business related. spent time talking into recorder during visit. Mixed my mri info with another pt's on 2nd visit. Office was suppose to set up consultation with another dr and did not. Neuro exam was very basic. Did not answer questions or seem to convey information to me. Would not recommend

1)Doesn't listen to patient2)Spends more time receiving personal extended calls than caring or concern for patient. Totally unapologetic.3)Test results told to patient have been changed next day. Patient unaware.4)Ignores patient's extreme pain. Gives a anti-depressant.5) Calls to office begging for help is met with uncaring clerical help who refuses to let you speak with him or anyphysician in office.Persistence results in Dr.Flatten having another doctor calling in prescription based on clerk's description of my pain. This is a 5 day dose only,told Dr. Harris will return to office, in one or two days,clerk will leave note. End of day 4,still no call from Harris..left on vacation. Clerk refuses to let me speak to any other doctor. Tells me SHE doesn't think I need any refill. Had(the 5 day) prescription filled 5 days ago, now 5 days later,"you have plenty, you don't need refill" finally saying she will leave note for doctor, assumed a doctor would call in refill or return my call.My… call & fax request from pharmacy ignored. Spent weekend in severe pain.Called Monday, clerk denys receiving pharmacy request(I have documented, signed proof of fax being sent & received on same day of my calling office.)She tell me that I cannot speak to or see another physician...finally concedes & tells a doctor of my pain & he calls in refill.I have carotid study done, I break down in tears, tech tells clerk I need to see another doctor while Dr. Harris is on vacation. She says I am not allowed. I have an appointment with Harris in about a month. Then, after he returns, I can see another ONLY if Harris ALLOWS me to see another physician. Tech even points out that it's the patient's choice,not Harris'. She totally ignores (medical ethics violation).Pain increasing,call office for need to be seen. Another clerk asks me "why are you having pain?", tell her that is why I need to see a doctor. Says she will call me following morning after she talks to tech.Did not call me, left message clarifying that the appointment request is for pain, not test results.FInally returns call "tech says nothing was bad on carotid study". Don't need to see a doctor. AGAIN- need to see a doctor for extreme pain,not test results. Said she would call me. Doesn't. Late afternoon, I call again, this time she tells I am NOT allowed to see any other doctor. Results in my retired criminal lawyer friend taking phone from me, saying he will start proceeding against them if the office continues to deny my access to speak or be seen by a physician..told awaits call back within 20 minutes from their office with appointment to see another physcian & receive care. Ten minutes later,office calls...tell me to see a pain management specialist...their doctors do not treat pain.6)Request medical records for pain specialist, receive them, minus any notes regarding pain or prescrpitons given. Medical records clerk says she is "not allowed" to send them.7) Show pain specialist "pain" medication they had given.... Totally useless for the pain that I was experiencing, was a med used for migraine headaches which I did not have at all.8) Dr.Harris is now (by at least a week & more)back in his office.He still has not called me.9) Oh, after clerk started HER diagnosis, deciding patient treatment, & care etc.my zero balance suddenly had become a newly added $69.00..I can only assumed I am being charged for her "unlicensed practice of medicine".10) Have witnessed the clerical staff's ignorant & arrogant treatment of otherpatients attempting to speak with them.

I have spinal injuries as well as MS. He assured me he would fully address both. My spinal conditions were "blown off" to a point I had to see neuro-surgeon which DrHarris refused to cooperate or have professional courtesy with. Immediate disc replacement & discectomy followed by my neuro-surgeon. When I asked to change to doctor within the practice my surgeon had good rapport with, Harris rudely refused - as well as refusing annual MRI for MS he put in writing was medically necessary. He lost his temper and abruptly ended my care by him.He also tried to give me off-label drugs for something totally unrelated. Major disappointment and unprofessional. His staff was apologetic.
