Dr. Jonathan Ronald Jowers, MD

I will never return to this doctor's office due to the way I was treated by one of the receptionist's - Audrie. She actually hung up on me when I called to follow-up about some documentation that needed to be sent off by Dr. Jowers. Even though she TOLD me to follow-up with the office if I did not hear from them by a certain day, I was still treated like I was, self-entitled and 'how dare I call and ask about it; they're very busy' and just clearly a huge inconvenience to her day. I've never been treated so rudely. Anyways, I've switched PCPs and will warn everyone to avoid this office if you want to be treated with respect by staff members.

As an African American women, who has been assigned Dr. Jowers... making an appointment over the phone seem impossible, so I've decided to go into the office. Instead of getting an scheduled appointment I was hassed by two of the office staff asking questions unrelated to obtain an appointment. They continue to tell me Dr. Jowers is on vacation and he only works 8 days out of the month and does not see patient who have controlled meds. I told them repeatly. I do not take control medication, therefore I would like to make an appointment. They continued to repeat Dr. Jowers does not see patients who takes controls meds. After going around in circles with two of the office staff (white women). They finally asked if I wanted an appointment. I decided that Dr. Jowers would be the doctor's office for me. I felt this was a race situation. To ask a new patient what is the nature of an appointment. I don't see how they are in business and what population do they service. Since calling Dr.… Jowers office numerous times. I just know when I reached the office they was going to be a line of patients. To my surprise there was not one person in the office waiting nor any cars in the parking lot. I couldn't helpe but wondering why no one has bother to return my call. This office received a poor review by me, for the lack of communication with staff drilling patients before scheduling an appointment. I feel there questions were over the line of receptionist, but I am sure they are only following Dr. Jowers order. I read some of the other reviews and Dr. Jowers scored very low on social skill. As a patient I want a doctor who still have the ability to listen an respond accordingly.

Very Friendly makes you feel so welcome as does his staff.

The dr and all the staff are amazing and care except for the eldest lady in the frount office she has very little care or respect for his patients . And basicly judges everyone with out cause or reason. If your bitter you shouldn't be a nurse

Dr. Jowers, as the Newspaper article in his Office states is a Physician who is a different breed which basically profiles his history and longtime service to the Augusta area. He practices with ethics of caring, and genuine concern for his patients. He takes every bit as much time or more if needed to meet his Patient's needs, questions, and concerns. The staff is quick to make referrals, very courteous, kind, and overall the sort of Physician (in my opinion) that we don't see much of anymore. His Retirement, when it comes, will be a disappointment to many who have been his patients over many years. I have been to Physicians who walk out "when they are through"; as long as you ask Dr. Jowers questions, he will answer them. He is very intelligent, has/had a Pilots' license, and stays amazing physically active in his spare time enjoying his Family and Hobbies. Some may not know that for many years he was also an ER Doctor is another town in GA on the weekends. He displays the… good ole' characteristics of a Phyisician that I haven't seen much of anymore.........

Several of the times I tried to make appointments with Dr. Jowers I was told by his staff that he was on vacation. On those occasions the staff was fairly helpful. When I actually did manage to make an appointment and saw Dr. Jowers I felt that he did not listen to me when I listed my concerns and symptoms. I felt that I was being brushed off and that I was making much of supposedly nothing. Definitely not a doctor whose patient interactions I will miss.
