Dr. Chris Shaver is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee. His extensive education included an internship and residency at the Greeneville Hospital System University Medical Center, in Greenville, South Carolina. The recipient of numerous academic honors, Dr. Shaver went on to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Kentucky, as well as concentrated research of Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair and Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction. Dr. Shaver has been excellent. He replaced my right knee in December 2025. I began having pain and issues in physical therapy and couldn't continue building strength. He quickly understood that I had grown scar tissue and I will be having arthroscopic surgery in June to clean that out. Dr. Shaver is compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient. I highly recommend him!

I had a total knee replacement with Dr. Shaver in May 2025. I was concerned ed about having a reaction to medications and the metals in the implant. The doctor and staff were very careful to make sure everything used and given were hypoallergenic especially for my sensitivities. My surgery went smoothly, I had no issues. I was back doing my full life activities at about 3 months. I am a year out now and would not hesitate to go to Dr. Shaver again for any other surgical need. Plus, he has a sweet personality! Would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr. Shaver and staff!

Dr. Shaver has done both of my shoulders and both of my husband’s knees. He is wonderful. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Shaver is great. He did a right shoulder replacement on my right shoulder last year and the results are wonderful. Yesterday was a consult about doing my left shoulder, this spring . He is always so courteous, takes all the time it takes to answer all your questions & concerns. Great Dr.!

Dr. Shaver is most certainly the best at his trade in the business. It is just this simple, he is the best at putting a shoulder back together. Dr. Shaver and TOA exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend them for any orthopedic procedure. You will be glad you chose them!
