She is an excellent physician as well great social skills.

The experience from my visit was beyond unacceptable to say the least. It started from the moment I arrived - the nurses were careless and verbalized things such as “Ha, you can probably tell it’s the end of the day” to some of them not speaking a word about what they were doing, who they were, or why they were sticking a needle in my arm. They did not listen to a word I said when explaining why I was at my appointment, nor did they write anything down or type it into the system. It then led to the actual care of Dr. Cervone - one of the worst healthcare experiences I’ve ever seen. Without an introduction of who she was given it was the first time I met her, I began to provide her with a detailed explanation of my history of symptoms and some research I had done. To which she responded “Have you tried an over the counter Stomach medicine?”. How does a provider ignore everything a patient says and respond with a question that had she listened, she would know did not make sense. I then… proceeded to get emotional knowing that as a patient, I was not receiving proper (or really any) care and would still result in a huge bill. She then proceeded to order every test possible which one could question medical waste - and only after I continued to advocate for myself. The visit was no longer than 3 minutes and she ultimately referred me to a functional medicine provider completely outside of the Vanderbilt Healthcare system. I called Patient Relations in July of 2023 and did not receive a call back until December of 2023. The carelessness and lack of member-centered care starts with this physician, care team and clinic, but expands well within the depths of Vanderbilt administration. It didn’t stop here as I then received a bill with CPT and ICD-10 billing codes that indicated the appointment was at minimum 60 minutes and an abdominal exam was performed. Neither of which are true and only amplifies the poor care of the physician including wrongful billing. It’s sad to see an institution like Vanderbilt lack basic patient care and it’s very clear it’s an institution that cares more about profits than caring for a patient. Which is quite honestly the opposite of the hippocratic oath all physicians are required to take. I remain somewhat hopeful Vanderbilt will be able to reach a resolution, although not likely given we are month 6 and have only received a call back within the last few weeks.

Yes she is young but intelligent, sensitive, and listens to her patients. Doesn’t assume she’s the smartest person in the room even if she is. She listens and explains in detail her dianogsis and isn’t afraid to hold fast when pushed.

Patient beware! Find another doctor!
