Dr. Jordan Lewis Shlain, MD

Dr. Shlain is impressive. His office was inviting and very sophisticated. The staff were prompt, but the thing I really liked was that he took his time to really explain to me what was important. I haven't had that level of attentiveness from a doctor before.

I saw Dr. Jordan Shlain MD because my neighbor was paying him a lot of "concierge money" for supposedly good service and medical care. He introduced me to Dr. Shlain and Jordan (in the middle of a socialite party) proceeded to lecture me about how I should spent my money (on him) and how great he is. That seemed kind of sleazy to me but he was very slick and my neighbor was totally bought into the hype. So my neighbor convinced me to sign up with Dr. Shlain. What a mistake. Not only did I never see Dr. Shlain again (he sent mediocre doctors without board certification out in his place, who didn't seem very smart and just seemed interested in upselling me on treatments I didn't need), but the office was very disorganized and I didn't feel like anyone was really trying very hard to provide good care or service in exchange for my hefty membership fees and steep per-visit charges. It just felt like smoke and mirrors, a bait and switch if you will, based on hype and self-promotion by… this charismatic but ultimately less than ethically-sound physician.
