Dr. Jorge Arturo Saldivar, MD

I scheduled an appointment in 2026 after my original review. I only came back because it was the soonest appt I could find to confirm my pregnancy. The manager called me to the back to tell me “I didn’t seem happy with my last pregnancy” so Dr. Saldívar is refusing me as a patient. Translation, my experience / review didn’t sit well with him. That’s fine, but I scheduled a week ago. That should’ve been a phone call. After I drove an hour to get here, filled out the paperwork providing my updated personal info, and waited in the waiting room, that’s crazy. She said they usually try to address issues people have, and I said so is this how y’all address issues? By refusing them as a patient? Total waste of gas and time, getting a sitter for the kids to come here when they could’ve told me that sooner. Unprofessional and ridiculous. Idk if the front office staff knew but they’re fine. The issue is beyond them. ORIGINAL (2025): I had Dr. Saldivar in 2014 with my first kid and it wasn’t… bad. So I decided to go with him again in 2024 for my second baby and so much was different, and not in a good way. Now he’s charging $60 extra (CASH ONLY, which is weird already) for them to simply tell you the gender of your baby - literally something they can already see during the ultrasound of a paid or insurance-covered appointment. I was confused and I’ve never heard of a doctor charging that but like a fool I paid it instead of just going somewhere else that could tell me. My current doctor and sonogram specialist have both asked me multiple times if I want to know the gender and there is no charge, and they’ve never heard of a doc charging extra for that when they can literally see it already. My insurance covered my appointments so this is a money-hungry side thing for sure and it feels unethical. He makes jokes and comments sometimes that are offensive. There is pressure to do what he thinks or wants and he puts you on the spot and it just feels off. My favorite appointments were the ones where I didn’t see him and saw a curly-haired lady (never got her name) instead. I do like the staff. Through my insurance, I got a few free things but needed him to sign off on them first. One was a pregnancy belly band. It was taking a while for his signature and he only signed off on one thing, so when I asked him about signing for the belly band, his response was that “I don’t want that and nobody really uses those.” Fast fwd to 2025 actually using one during my current pregnancy - I WISH I HAD IGNORED HIM BECAUSE IT HELPS PAIN SO MUCH. And I was in a lot of pain with my second baby so I missed out because he thinks “nobody wears those.” During multiple visits he kept pressuring me to get extra insurance from a specific guy although my current insurance covered everything I needed because “you never know.” I’m pretty sure he got some sort of commission because there’s no way someone would push that hard to call and get a quote in the middle of the appointment like that multiple times, stand there to wait and hear the convo, or ask at each following appointment what the quote was and if I got the insurance. I was just totally off put by everything the second pregnancy. I almost went back to him during this pregnancy out of location convenience and because I like the hospital, but I’m honestly glad I didn’t. Seems like it’s mostly about money now and maybe because he’s gotten older he pays less care and attention to what he says to people.

I have recommended this office to every woman I no! Now I will not I was so excited when my new insurance had Saldivar on the list. Wow was I mistaken! I have had 4 calls to this office and I must say.... I have changed my view! The front office staff, rude, cuts you off, talks down to you. Im not sure if it's the same person but I will NEVER go back. I am paying for this service im not going to be treated badly and made to feel uncomfortable.

I'm an RN, and I have worked with and been a patient of many doctors. Dr. Saldivar is by far, the best gynecologist/ostetrician I have ever met. He was very knowledgable and caring. He spent time answering my questions, and was avaliable after hours when I had concerns. He took every percaution using multiple tests and procedures. He made my pregnancy and delivery an easier and enjoyable experience.
