Just a horrible doctor. Doesn’t let you talk, told me to get out of his office when I was trying to explain something. Bad attitude and unprofessional

Dr. Alvarez is wonderful. My 90 year old father has been a patient of Dr. Alvarez for almost a year. I am very happy with the level of care and expertise he's provided. He takes the time to listen and answer any questions that my father or I have. Big difference in my father since he started treatment.

I'm coming rolling down from WPB to Miami looking for a good Psy doctor and I finally found and outstanding physician, not the ordinary pill prescriber, excellent human being.

I only met with Dr. Alvarez once and the experience was good. However, I ran out of an rx and didn't realize it until I went to the pharmacy to get the order. I called the office to see if I could get a refill but the receptionist advised me since it had been 2 months, I couldn't get a refill without an appt. first. I explained to her I was leaving town and completely out, the Dr. knows I've been on the medication for 2 years already; if there was anyway I could get an emergency refill & I would schedule an appt. as well, she told me it was my responsibility to keep track of when my rx refills run out. After a bit of back and forth and me asking her if there were any other options, she said she'd as the Dr. and call me back. When she calls back, she tells me the Dr. said no I could not get a refill without seeing him, then offers me two morning appts. for the following day. Unfortunately, I would be at work during those times & since I am already leaving early (to leave town as… previously mentioned) I couldn't make it. I asked if there was any way I could come in after 1pm, she said no, there's nothing available but those two times. I said, "Ok, so if I begin having withdrawals when I'm out of town & have a medical emergency, the Dr. isn't going to consider or care about that? I'm going to need to find another solution." Her response was simply, "Ok well, you can go ahead and find another Dr." So, I guess that's what I'm going to have to do.
