I think this visit with Dr. Gurrola was perhaps the best doctor's visit I've ever had. He spent a good deal of time with me and I did not feel rushed (as I have with past doctors), he listened to me, showed empathy, and walked me through my CT scan and explained things to me in a way I understood without any condescension. Despite having no answer/magic bullet for my sinus condition, I left feeling well educated, and with a doctor who I could come back to and trust in the future. I also appreciated he had a bit of a sense of humor.

Dr Gurrola was very knowledgeable about my case, compassionate re: the lack of effectiveness my recent treatment and spent time to discuss options for moving ahead. He communicated with Dr Loftus while I was there and we developed a plan together. I felt included and listened to. Thanks Dr Gurrola

These ratings are all specific to Dr. Gurrola. He started off the appointment addressing my well-being overall (outside of the symptoms that brought me to my office). Most importantly, his interactions with me made it very apparent that he read my lengthy record history prior to meeting with me, acknowledged the complexity of my case, and my concerted efforts navigating the healthcare system with little to no results/decrease in symptoms. He balanced this approach with not sugarcoating anything and was upfront with me that he was not going to be able to help me given what he read in my records, saw in my examination, and his expertise. Despite this, he did his best to directly refer me to another specialist and also provided medication that would be the next specialist's directives, to get me ahead of the curve. In the end, I felt that this brief interaction with Dr. Gurrola was one of the best I've ever had with an MD (and I've had many). He even offered to see me again given… our connection in the appointment, to which I took as medical professionals of this standard are far and few in-between. If possible, I'd like this feedback to be given directly to Dr. Gurrola, as it's important for him to know he is doing incredibly meaningful work in a difficult system.

Expert, knowledgeable and friendly

Dr. Gurrola was very caring and took his time to explain my condition and offered treatment options, explaining the side effects. He performed a detailed exam and listened to my questions. Excellent bed side manners!

Dr Gurrola likes to keep close tabs on his handiwork, meaning my nose, and I benefit by getting the best of care.
