Dr. Joseph R Alonso, MD

After reading some of these bad reviews I just had to put in a review from my husband and I who have been seeing Dr Alonso for over 10 years. He absolutely does not rush you and listens to everything you have to say. If you have any concerns he will test you for those concerns and find out what's going on. I don't know what makes people write such awful things but he is just not that kind of Dr. and he doesn't keep you waiting. And the staff is also GREAT!

Great staff, but this doctor rushes through your visit and then acts as if you are not important at all. After 2 visits I knew I made a mistake. This man appears to be suffering from burn out and lack of interest.

I gave it 2 years, but then I had to leave. His staff is so friendly and compassionate to you, and do all the vitals, etc. before he glides into the room and makes the same old comment, "Have you been staying out of trouble?" Then he starts reading blood tests results off and does a quick check of your heart and breathing. If try to discuss something with him or you tell him you are having side effects he tells you there are no side effects, or if you tell him you have a lot of edma, he says to stay away from salt. In my opinion his patient care is "NEXT NUMBER!" Everything I felt concerned about he made me feel like I was an idiot, and even had the gall to tell me I had many heart problems and chuckled. "CHUCKLED!!" There I sat upset and concerned about my health and he dismisses me like that. I guess he just disliked me, so he bantered with me to make feel bad. I think he wanted me to find another Cardiologist. SO I DID!

My father has been seeing Dr Alonso for years and after a recent visit to the ER, we were referred to another cardiologist because we were told by the hospital that he had no concern with the case. He’s supposed to be his doctor and didn’t care he was in the ER with a heart related issue. When a doctor loses his compassion for his patients he shouldn’t practice anymore.

After my husband was hospitalized for 5 way by-pass surgery, Dr. Alonso was assigned to him as a cardiologist. My husband also has seen him since in his office. My husband is a Vietnam Veteran. The VA requires him to have paper work filled out and Dr. Alonso refused. No explanation as to why he refused to fill them out. Needless to say we are now looking for another cardiologist.

I look forward to seeing Dr. Alonso, he doesn't seem to rush you through the appointment. He takes time and talks to you about your condition. His nurses always seem cheerful and caring.

Not only is Dr. Alonso very highly clinicly competent he is personable, informative, and very interested in his patients well being. His staff is top notch - friendly, responsive, and helpful.I cannot recommend Dr. Alonso highly enough.
