Dr. Joseph Behan, MD

Dr. Behan is the absolute best in the medical world. He has such a warm and caring spirit, not only was he my doctor but he became family. Having a high-risk pregnancy during a pandemic was super stressful. Dr. Behan made things so much better, I wouldn't have wanted to experience childbirth with any other doctor. Dr. Behan is very knowledgeable, professional and most of all compassionate. He gave what could have been a nightmare a fairytale ending.

If you are not pregnant don't bother going to this clinic. I was referred to Dr Behan and Dr Rodriguez by my insurance because I am having ovarian pains. When I called they would not answer took a week to get a call back. Finally got in contact with them got my appointment. Even made it a point for them to requested my all my test results and signed all the paperwork for them to be able to do that. Now 3 weeks later Showed up to my appointment where I had to wait for 3 hours in the waiting room after my appointment time, but any woman that came in with a child or carrying a child was taken right in. I'm finally seen at 5pm on the dot to only be told that it was a wasted appointment because they didn't have any of my results and there was nothing that can be done until they can see them. I then had to resign all the paperwork for them to once again request all my results once they got them they would give me a call back. Also the doctor was stopping every two minutes to take a call… where he said was the hospital the others where from the ladies at the front desk. Week later I called them they said they will hadn't gotten anything, got a called back the next day saying they did get it but the doctor was too busy and also going out of town to busy bother reading them that they would get back to be the following week. I called the second week and got nothing in return. It's now a month and still haven't heard from them. So if your going to other issues that requires you to be seen by an gyn. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I absolutely LOVE Dr.Behan! He listens to every concern I have and really takes my feelings in consideration. Has a very "pick me up" spirit, when I am in a bad mood i never leave his office without a smile on my face. His nurses are amazing and so down to earth, they definitely make me feel like family.

After leaving 3 messages in a 1 and a half week time span, the nurse finally today returned my call. This office is disorganized and have do not care about their patients time. Everything is run on their own time and they are not in a hurry about anything. I will be moving to a new doctor.

I went to Dr. Behan because as a Catholic I thought it'd be nice to have a doctor who didn't push BC and understood my beliefs. After waiting for 3 hours (he was not delivering a baby, I heard him talking throughout the halls during my wait time) I was brought back to the room. I was told that my breast tissue was dense which leads to breast cancer, and because the way my uterus was shaped I would be prone to miscarriages/have fertility issues. If that wasn't enough of a blow, I was then told since it was after his office hours I'd need to make another appointment to have my blood drawn because his staff had left for the day... cool wasted half my day there and needed to take more time off just for blood work. Upon getting pregnant I went to a different doctor recommended by a friend. I shared my concerns about the uterus and dense breast tissue and my new doctor looked shocked. He said the way my uterus is shaped is the difference between being left handed and right handed (it… would have no effect on my pregnancy or ability to conceive haha clearly)... and he couldn't find any dense breast tissue on me. I'm sure he's a great doctor, but I was heartbroken with my experience. Wish his bedside manner and time management was better, a little respect goes a lone way.

Horrible, I'll make it "Short", it was my first pregnancy & I was 5 weeks & 4 days only. He kept insisting on a pap smear & I repeated myself at least 10 times "Not today" he just wouldn't understand what I was saying! (Personal preference: I wanted a woman to do it, but it was an emergency because I had some drinks & I was worried before I found out I was pregnant), so he told me about another patient of his that had "Breast Cancer" coz she didn't check, then he said to me "I'm not saying you have Cancer" I kept calm. Sonogram: He said "I have a Bicornuate Uterus" that could cause complications in the pregnancy, so he scared me on my first pregnancy! I checked with 2 other doctors & I DO NOT have that. He said baby is on the RIGHT in a worried tone, I checked & it is NORMAL for the baby to be on the right, left or center! Then he said "You could have your baby early, around 37 weeks!" I checked & having a baby between 37-40 weeks is absolutely NORMAL. Of course all that was freaking… me out, but kept calm because he was not going to be my permanent doctor anyway, & I just wanted to see that the baby was ok in the sonogram. But as a human being, he should not scare a woman on her first pregnancy because she's never done this before & scare her like that with all these MADE UP COMPLICATIONS. He is not trustworthy, he's uncomfortable, forces his opinion like it is a FACT! well sorry I don't believe everything I'm told, & other people get second opinions too, so be careful what you say. Oh! one more thing, I did not have insurance & I honestly think that he was making my pregnancy sound complicated because he wanted me to go back there every 2 weeks to get a Sonogram! I'm pretty sure that many sonograms for that many more months can not be healthy for a baby, but he just didn't care! It's not his! Good luck & thanks for reading my review.

Dr, Behan is a loving doctor any woman could have, always keeps you smiling even in bad time, very supportive and up beat, would not change him for any other doctor n the world, he goes out of his wayy to make r you have the best health possible, so this is why I choose to nominate Dr, beh@n as one of the best doctor's in the world.

I rated accurate diagnosis as poor because I had blood work and a paps mean exactly one month ago and still have not received the results. I called the office yesterday and was told a nurse would call me back. I never received a call back. I called today and was told that yesterday they were "Slammed" and that is why nobody returned my call yesterday. She said there is a note in my folder saying I called and a nurse will call me just as soon as she can but it will most likely be at the end of the day. I never received that call. This was my first visit to Dr. Behan. He seems like a good doctor. I am very upset and angry that his staff evidently does not feel that this patient is worthwhile enough to provide me with the results of my lab work from a month ago. Since his office staff does not follow up and he obviously does not follow up with his staff to find out if they have followed up with the patients I will not be returning as a patient.

Worst decision I've ever made. Dr. Behan has no sense of his patients time . I've have come and waited an hour and thirty minutes with no remorse from him. He doesn't listen to the patient. Everytime I talk to him it goes in one ear and out the other which allows him to state the exact same statement I've previously said. I have to constantly ask him about my lab results instead of him being forthcoming with the results. He is a very poor doctor treats his patients as a number and not a human being. I've seen Dr. Behan every two weeks since I was 26 weeks and now every week he still doesn't remember saying "He's measuring big". It's very frustrating when you feel like your doctor doesn't know what he is talking about. He gave me two different dates and went with a dates when I was eight weeks pregnant from results of another hospital. I tell him about the extreme pain I'm in to the point I can barely walk and he says that's normal. I'm so ready for this experience to be over I would… never recommend anyone I know to go to him.

Dr. Behan is an NFP-only gynecologist. He spends as much time with each patient as needed, and he really listens. He was the only doctor who suggested a particular test that I needed, and this may very well have saved my life. NOTE: Dr. Behan, as a practicing Catholic, does not do contraception. There are women who travel far for his unique practice, so people who want contraception can go to the 99.9% of OB/GYN's who presribe it, but that's not what Dr. Behan does.
