Dr. Joseph Charles Cerny JR., MD

I was disappointed in the patient care from Dr. Cierny. After 3 CT scans and 2 KUB I was told to call the office and make another appointment to discuss my 5 mm kidney stone. Since it had been almost 3 months and I was in constant pain with no empathy from the triage nurse I decided call to make an appointment...with another urologist! I got in the next day and 3 days later the kidney stone (6mm) was removed. I was told this should not have gone on past a month.

Scheduled an appointment with Dr Cierny after going to the ER twice with a 5 mm kidney stone. He ordered another CT scan and KUB. Follow-up was poor. After several calls to the office triage they concluded another CT was needed. Again very poor follow-up and was told numerous times “he was hard to catch and wasn’t sure when he would review CT.” I knew I still had kidney stone as the report was in My Chart. 5 days later the triage nurse responded to my calls and told me to call and make an appointment! I was transferred and Noone answered!! I called another urologist and got in the next day and the 6 mm stone was removed two days later. I had to deal with pain for 3 months, which was totally unnecessary and very poor practice. I would not recommend Dr Cierny he seems way to busy to care about the health of his patients.

I Have been a patient of Dr. Joseph Cerny Jr. for one year ( 2017 ). I was referred to a Urologist by my Primary Physician Dr.Vandana Gupta, I was also a new patient of her's (2017). I was referred to a Urologist for a PSA reading of 4.5 on my first check-up , I wondered why? My fist appointment with Dr. Cerny I had a rectal exam and a PSA blood test reading of 4.75 , when I mentioned that I was told the medical field doesn't really go by a PSA reading very much he became angry that Vandana wouldn't do it ( meaning the rectal exam) OK? Second appointment - 3 months later a PSA reading of 5 something - Dr Cerny had all the equipment out to take a biopsy of my prostate? I said no! Third appointment, 3 months later PSA reading of 7 something when Dr.Cerny came into the room his face flushed red when he told me the results? I did not trust the results or Dr.Cerny - he wanted me to sign up foe a biopsy. I decided to go back to my prior Dr. where he said to come here for a check-up in 6… months. I did with a PSA reading of 5 then and a PSA reading of 4.0 6 weeks after that! My out of pocket expense for Dr. Vandana Gupta and Dr. Cerny was over $1,800.00 for basically wellness and prevention care! I feel blessed I had the good sense to go back to my prior Dr.

Have always had a good experience with Dr Cerny. He has been my uro for 2 years.

Dr. Cerny is a great doctor. His confidence and knowledge is very evident. He does not beat around the bush, he answers questions with poise and certainty!

Interesting that several other reviews perceived Dr Cerney just as I did

Dr. Cerney has been my doctor for twelve years. He has treated me for prostate cancer and kidney stones. He's a very caring doctor, and has always answered my questions. The time he spends with me is determined by the reason for the visit. I do feel he's a very capable doctor.

Arrogant, uncaring, rude, insulting and overall uninterested in my problem.

Most unprofessional doctor I have ever experienced.

He originally saw me without referral and diagnosed a serious issue. He works on the known issues and doesn't speculate on the "what ifs" but sticks to the facts. He is honest and straight forward and truly cares about his patients. He has performed 10 surgeries on me and was excellent each time. I would recommend him to anyone.
