Dr. Joseph Kyu Chong, MD

He delivered my second child. He was very professional and peaceful during the labor and delivery. It was one of the great moment of my life because he was confident and I knew everything is under his control and I didn’t need to worry anything. I can’t thank him enough for everything.

A discriminative doctor cannot be a good doctor.

He is a very skilled doctor with meticulous hands. I am pretty weak being suffered a childhood illness but all the surgeries went really well. Also was scared to undergo a third c/sec but went well without any complications and even the scar is very minimal, I would say hardly noticeable. Wonderful doctor

He is jokingly known as a "father" of all Korean babies in NJ as every Korean mom I know went to dr. Chong for their delivery. Like other reviewers mentioned, the staff isn't very friendly and the office is always packed and busy (with 99% Koreans) but I have to say, Dr. Chong is one of the most skilled, competent and moral doctor I've met. I have confidence that no matter how complicated my condition is, I will be in good, safe hands. I haven't been back for regular visits since my 2 deliveries but if I need any OBGYN procedure, I'll be seeking his expertise.

I tried to call three times to make an appointment, someone answers the phone claiming its Dr. Chong's office. And when I asked to make an appointment it's the "answering service", this woman picks up from the first ring. Doesn't matter what time of day, she claims no one is there and she is just an answering service. Disgusting, never seen a practice like this.

Terrible doctor. Has no interest in his practice. The way his staff behaves and office looks says everything about the type of doctor he is. His demeanor, very passive to the behavior of his staff, says everything about his interest in the care of his patients. I was a prospective patient and my experience can only be compared to that of being sent back to 60’s and feeling like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Literally every patient was Asian and the staff looked like they did want a non-Asian. I had to look outside the window and make sure I was still in America because they only communicate in Korean. Yes, the area is predominantly Asian but this is America and English is still the preferred language. Regardless, I left with a feeling that the way his staff treated had more to do with race than anything else. In the end, I found a great doctor and felt I was saved from putting my health in the hands of a doctor like him.

Don't make my mistake

This doctor has only Korean speaking staff and patients are Korean. When trying to book an appointment you have to play words with the receptionist to attempt to understand her. Luckily she can say the days of the week, numbers and time. When I got there, I for the life of me could not understand why there is not an English speaking receptionists. The lady bluntly told me "doctor no see you" without giving an explanation. Women in the waiting area looked at me like I was a mammal of a different species. I asked to see the doctor and they refused.

I was skeptical based on the reviews here but was pleasantly surprised how great the doctor was and the staff. He answered all my questions and very thorough check up.

Front desk is to lazy to track medical records. They want you to track your own medical records, provide fax number to pharmacy and call pharmacy on their behalf. I would not recommend this doctor due to his staff. There is also a language barrier. Doctor is okay. He is very nice but not very informative. He does not take his time to explain things. I will change doctors.
