Dr. Joseph Benjamin Griffin, MD

Dr. Griffin refused to really listen to me. Although I was in a lot of hip pain, he would not image my hip. He had already ordered an MRI of my lower back, which came out normal. I pressed for an MR-arthrogram of my hip which --I know now--is the norm for patients with hip pain that has gone undiagnosed for more than 6 months. He refused to, saying "I'm not going to waste anymore of your parents' money...". I was upset, frustrated and insulted. For whatever reason, it seemed like he didn't trust me, maybe because my symptoms got worse after a car accident. Over a year went by before I finally found a doctor that actually listened to me, and sure enough, 2 weeks after my NEW DOCTOR ordered an MR-Arthrogram, like I had originally begged Griffin for--my results were positive for Hip Dysplastic And Torn Labrum With Impingement Syndrome. I was put into surgery 2 weeks after that for Osteoplasty of the Femoral Neck, Repair And Trim of the Acetabular Labrum, Synovectomy and Iliopsoas Tendon… Lengthening. If anything I learned something from Dr. Griffin... to always trust my instinct. My instincts were telling me that he was full of crap... too bad the time lost led to secondary injuries because my hip wasn't never treated by Griffin.
