How many of us think about how our veins work? Yes, we hear about arteries a lot when they clog up or need a bypass…but veins, meh! At the advice of my primary care physician I sought out a vascular surgeon to treat my varicose veins. I didn’t really pay much attention. But after receiving some education from a brief visit I found out I had some advanced stage of veins not working well at all. He performed ablations on both legs and they are feeling better and looking better. Since I’ve had the procedure I’m now sleeping through the night. Apparently a side effect of corrective vein work is lower inflammation and better circulation of fluids, all fluids, where the urge to visit the bathroom 4-5x night is no longer there. Who knew? This Dr can easily explain why this is happening. As we age many of our systems start to wear down and the valves in our veins are no different. Leaky valves and leaking veins can lead to inflammation and fluid buildup that affects other systems (muscles,… skin etc). If you’re about to have orthopedic surgery, like a TKR, it would be good to know how well your circulation works PRIOR to surgery. My advice. Have yourself checked out. This practice is very professional, friendly, caring and medically excellent.

Dr Magnant is very professional and answered all my concerns and questions. The vein procedure was very thorough and I was able to get back to work immediately. His staff are excellent and very caring. Compared to what my own mother went through I’m thrilled that vein disease has changed so much.
