Dr. Joseph David Navon, MD

So the dr himself here is great , the receptionist is useless , I tried to get a appt to refill my prescription that he prescribed, and with no warning I need a appt for a refill but next appt available is in two and a half months . So now I’m left with no medication and no warning. To top it off the receptionist is just rude , rude tone and could not wait to get off the phone offering no solutions. Also could not tell me if they accept my insurance…

My father was in extreme pain following an extensive surgery to remove kidney stones two days prior. My father's urologist, Dr. Klein had instructed us to contact the Dr. on call, and have that doctor page him (Dr. Klein) should my dad experience extensive pain. Dr. Navon was on call when he was contacted in the early hours by us. First, he refused to contact Dr. Klein, stating that he needs his sleep and that he (Dr. Navon) also needed his sleep as he had surgery in a few hours and does not normally wake up this early. He then instructed us to give my dad Advil or over the counter pain reducer, which we were specifically told NOT to give him as they could cause blood thinning. We told him that we had given my dad half of a vicodin at which time Dr. Navon instructed us to give him the other half. This man was dismissive, rude, non-compliant, and made us feel as though we should never have called him because "He needed his sleep!" I would never recommend him to anyone. It's already… intimidating to have to page a Doctor at 3:30am and then to be made to feel as though you are a nuisance while your father is writhing and yelling in pain, is completely unacceptable. I will be requesting Dr. Klein's cell phone number for any future emergencies while my father is recovering.

Bar none the worst Dr I’ve ever been to. Not only was his diagnosis wrong, but he was rude about it. I was in severe chronic pain and he rolled his eyes and told me it’s all in my head. He strikes me as the kind of guy who got beaten up a lot in high school, and is now taking his nerd revenge out on his patients. Maybe I reminded him of one of his childhood bullies. Or maybe I just wanted to punch him anyway. He should lose his medical license and I’m not saying that lightly. Really Navon, find something else to do with your miserable life. You suck!

My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Navon for a high PSA reading. Dr. Navon did a thorough exam and another blood test, confirming the high reading. Then I had to take some time out for major back surgery. Next I'll be getting an MRI, and we'll see from there what needs to be done.

I had a vasectomy and it was painless. The man is the best you can go to. When I say painless I mean there was absolutely no pain whatsoever.

The person below who wrote a negative review is entirely wrong, out of line, and he is the one that actually harassed the doctor and wouldn't let him explain the procedure. His negative review is referring to my husband. Dr. Navon saved my husband's life. He was in an emergency situation, was bleeding profusely, had severe infections and high fever. Dr. Navon was kind enough to immediately fit him into his 12 hour work day schedule during his lunch. He had to operate to stop my husband's profuse bleeding in order to stabilize him. Dr. Navon is an extraordinary doctor who explained very clearly what the situation was and what had to be done and he was always very professional. He saved the day. I would highly recommend him to anyone, especially if you find yourself in a complicated emergency situation. You can rely on him.

Dr. Navon performed a procedure on an elderly relative who was hospitalized at Providence Tarzana Hospital. From the first moment we met him, (when he came in to check on our family member), he was rude, arrogant and unpleasant. He was clearly irritated at having to tell us what was going on with our relative, and then sped through his synopsis. Questions were not allowed from us. He told us we needed to listen better and "not interrupt," like we were first-graders. He was defensive when we asked him to clarify certain things. Overall, I'd say we're lucky there are so many great urologists in Los Angeles. No need to go to someone with a terrible bed side manner like this guy.

my husband was very nervous about having a vasectomy, but dr. navon helped ease my husband's mind, everything turned out beautifully, I would recommend him to family & friends. the lady at the front desk was very kind & helpful, she checked our deductible and let us know what the fee's would be before the appointment which I appreciate very much. overall a great experience.
