Joseph Osborne, M.D., Ph.D., received a B.S. in Neuroscience from Brown University in 1992. Subsequently, he earned an M.D. degree from Columbia University - College of Physicians and Surgeons and a Ph.D. from the laboratory of Dr. Richard Axel in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in 2001. Dr Osborne graduated from Columbia with the Conrad Hsu prize for distinction in research.
After an internship in Internal Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center (Washington D.C.), Dr. Osborne returned to Columbia University receiving residency training in Diagnostic Radiology and serving as Chief Resident from 2006-2007. The following year Dr Osborne remained at the Presbyterian Hospital campus for fellowship training in Nuclear Radiology.
Dr. Osborne is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and is an Assistant Attending Radiologist at The New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus. He is the Associate Director of the Division of Nuclear Medicine and was …appointed Program Director of the Nuclear Medicine/Molecular Imaging Residency Training Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus in June 2010.
Dr. Osborne’s research interests focus on translational molecular imaging and investigational PET development. More broadly, Dr Osborne is interested in the molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis their disparate impact on underrepresented minorities.
Dr. Osborne achieved Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology in 2007 and is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine
