Don’t bother seeing this bully. If your primary care physician refers you to this man for a hip replacement consult, ask your doctor to refer you to another orthopedic surgeon. Like a crotchety grandpa who’s been forced to get out of his Lazy Boy recliner stationed in front of the TV to join guests at the Thanksgiving dinner table, he deliberately provokes each visitor with verbal insults fired in rapid succession until no one remains. His objective is to get rid of the visitor as quickly as possible so he can get back to his throne and enjoy the football game. DO NOT schedule a follow up several months later to ask additional questions like I did. Making a stage worthy entrance, he startled me when the door flew open and he exclaimed, “I’m confused! What are YOU doing here? WHY did you even come back?” Armed with a page of questions I had prepared, I attempted to proceed, but each question only escalated his anger. He cut off my efforts to speak and twisted the words I had managed to… get out to mean something entirely different. Frustrated by his efforts to distort my words, I then made the mistake of telling him he would make a great politician. “You had better stop talking now before you say something you might live to regret,” he said. Taken aback by his “Good Fellas” impersonation, I reached inside my purse, grabbed my car keys and turned my cell phone back on to prepare my escape. Alarmed that I had touched a button on my cell phone, “grandpa” concluded his performance with a technophobic rant: “Were you recording this? You are not allowed to record in this area without my advance permission! YOU are violating the law!” If it really had been Thanksgiving, I might have thrown a spoonful of peas or mashed potatoes across the table at him. But alas it was summer, so I hobbled like a wobbly cow through the halls and out the doors of this hallowed hospital and vowed to never visit the curmudgeon again.

The guy is rude and arrogant. He blamed me for scheduling an appointment with him. I did just because they offered the earliest appointment. He saw me with an air of doing a favor. The records are not kept properly. I had to repeat all what I said in the first appointment. In the last appointment, the doctor did not show and he sent a nurse. He left the office before the appointment.

After reading the reviews before i saw this man, i was very sceptical. I only saw him because he had an opening the same day as me calling. Everyone who had "negative" things to say about him, clearly have met him. He is loud, arrogant, and clearly has quite the complex. Thats all fine if he really is a competent doctor, unfortunatley people skills are his weak point, and he works on people. I have a 12 inch scar down my leg from it being a donor area for anothter area of my body. For whatever reason he was so uptight he didnt even notice this large surgical scar going down my leg next to my knee (was seeing him for knee issues). He started to "diagnose" me until i mentioned the scar and started bringing up better diagnoses than himself. He quickly got upset with a regular person possibly knowing anything in his field, all due to his lack of seeing the scar and actually properly diagnosing me. I will never see this "doc" again, and If you value your health and dont like to be talked… down to and prefer to have your questions properly answered, then you shouldnt see this doctor. He really needs to go back to school and finish his education to be the civil engineer instead of being a physican. Im sure he has hurt alot of people physically by not doing things as good as a competent phys would have

a good guy and a darn good doctor who knows what he is doing and made me feel safe !

Dr Scarcella is an excellent dr and great surgon! Not sure why there would even be one bad comment about him?Would recomend.********** 10 stars!Only thing I dont care for is he is part of the cleveland clinic.

THIS DOCTOR SHOULD GO BACK TO SCHOOL FOR COURTESY AND BEDSIDE MANNERS TO PATIENTS. I WAS THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE HE GAVE ME. I AM STILL SUFFERING FROM THE POOR SERVICE HE RENDERED AND WAS TOLD TO HAVE ANOTHER OPERATION DONE.

I am going back to have my left shoulder operated on after he operated on my right shoulder for similar problems. He shoots straight and to the point--you know what you're facing and you have a clear diagnosis. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Excellent Doctor/diagnostician, very caring, professional. Performed two surgeries on me -- hip replacement -- very pleased with the results. He is honest but I truly appreciate that -- do not like surprises & want to be told up front what to expect. Would and have recommended him to my family and friends.
