Dr. Joseph Carl Shanklin, MD

Great doctor and staff. I highly recommend Dr. Shanklin for any mental health issues. He takes the time to listen and will guide you through any issues you have. If your looking for the best then you want to call his office you will not regret it,

I am truly grateful that my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Shanklin years ago, He takes the time needed to make sure you are feeling better and that he answers all questions and addresses them before you leave his office. I highly recommend Dr. Shanklin.

Dr. Shanklin has helped me in so many ways over the years with both physical and emotional issues. He takes the time to listen and does not rush you. I always feel so much better when I leave his office. His staff is wonderful as well,

had an appointment at 5, showed up at 5:10 because of traffic. And the office is empty. I knock on the door and try it a few times. Nothing. After knocking on the door, I figured might as well knock louder to see if anyone is in the back. So I banged on the door for a few seconds. Obnoxious, yes, but desperate times call for desperate measures. When still no one came, I figured it was empty and called my mom for advice. Next thing you know, cops are pulling up because APPARENTLY, there WAS someone inside, and instead of letting me in, they called the cops. As it turns out, Shanklin cancelled my appointment without calling me! and because I was at the psychiatrist office now technically without an appointment, the cops threatened to trespass me. For showing up to my own appointment to get my anxiety medication. I apologized once I figured out what happened, as the bookkeeper had no way of knowing who I was. Shanklin had basically set a trap up for me. I know by posting this he might… drop me as a client before issuing my refill, but that’s a risk I feel like I must take to keep people from making the same mistake I did, and going to see this guy. I plan on switching doctors tomorrow!

I agree with all the excellent review scores for this great psychiatrist. Dr. Shanklin has helped me for the past few years. Great office staff also.

In my view Dr. Shanklin has good listening and observation skills. He is very professional and empathetic to my issues with major panic and anxiety. I always leave feeling better and highly recommend him if your looking for the best.

Excellent Psychiatrist!!

I finally found the psychiatrist I need. I found him very intelligent, easy to talk to (even with my anxiety), and trustworthy. I had been seeking solutions to my mental anguish for some time now and he seems to have quite accurately diagnosed me in one visit. I feel as if he has already given me my life back. He spent an impressive amount of time with me and really listened to my concerns. I look forward to continuing with him. I highly recommend seeing him.
