Dr. Joseph Thomas Sincavage, MD

Dr. Sincavage is an old-school, sexist, chauvenistic gynecologist. If you are looking for someone who understands women and their experiences, this doctor is not for you. At my recent annual exam, he asked about my family planning. When I answered honestly, he began a tirade about how vasectomies lead to significant and long-lasting psychological and emotional damage for a man, whereas when women get their tubes tied "they are just fine". Then (after being told that my family was complete), he asked if I was taking prenatal vitamins. When I responded that I was not, he said, "well maybe you should, just in case". After 13 failed pregnancies and countless rounds of invasive fertility treatments (all of which are documented in my chart), he spent the majority of the appointment recommending that I get my tubes tied instead of "forcing" my husband into a vasectomy and then had the audacity to encourage me to entertain the prospect of getting pregnant again. Never again will I see this… doctor.

Dr Sincavage has been my doctor for over 22 years. He delivered my last child and helped me through a miscarriage. Very personable, he performs his exam, then lets you dress and meet with him outside the exam room to discuss any concerns or questions. Very professional in my opinion

Has been my Dr. for twenty six years. Delivered both my children. Both were complicated deliveries that took most of 24 hours. He calls to check up on things when most Dr.'s wouldn't. When my father passed away he sent me a personal handwritten note that I have 15 years later.

This man is a great doctor who is passionate about his job. He will take the time to do the research, answer you questions and find every Avenue he can to address your problems.

With my pregnancy I was refereed to him by a family memeber and I had a lot of questions and I remember the lack of eye contact, his answer to one of my questions as a new mom reading from the book what to expect when your expecting went like "this book makes my job miserable, don't bother reading it." If you can't answer a simple question a new mom has appropriately you have failed at your job. Delivering my son was beautiful and he treated my delivery as if he was bored and careless, like it was his 1 millionth delivery and didn't answer any questions I had and was awful the worst doctor ever.

My sister was recently taken to the ER for a miscarriage and this horrible excuse for a Dr was the one on call. He narrated the pelvic exam by saying "there is a lot of blood here" and commenting to the nurse that "there's going to blood everywhere in a minuet" will performing the exam. His bedside manner was horrible and this man should not be allowed to care for patients in this manner. This was a very hard time for our family and he was by no means competent or understanding. He tone was very offensive and demeaning. I for one will never let this Dr in the same room as myself or a family member again!

I have been a patient of Dr. Sincavage for over 10 years now, and its because he's a very caring and attentive Dr. Some people find it weird to have a male Dr. but he makes it very comfortable and there is always a female nurse present during vaginal exams should you feel uncomfortable. I can talk to him about any issue comfortably. He has amazing staff and his office is very professional and clean. He's the best! Its rare to find a Dr. your this comfortable with.K. Slowe
